    Assemble or disassemble for parkerizing.

If memory serves me I think I used 2-3 gallons of distilled water. It's been few years. I heated it up in my garage with my camp stove.

    Assemble or disassemble for parkerizing.

Parkerize it with the barrel pressed in. It's not worth the hassle head spacing and pinning again. I had a stainless tank made 15+ years ago by a local sheet metal shop. It's 36x8x8. I've done a M1 Carbine and one AK. Both came out pretty good.

Any recommendations for where to get an M-1 Carbine inspected/repaired?

These are easy rifles to work on. Check the gas piston and make sure it's not stuck and check the length of the recoil spring and make sure it's up to specs. As far as lube is concerned you only need a few drops here and there. No need for special ammo either. Post a few pics of the rifle broken...

    H&R .32 top break issues

Maybe for the right price. You can shot wheelgun or cowboy loads through it if you can't get BP loads.

    H&R .32 top break issues

Most likely you need to break it all down and clean up the crusty crap build up. There is a small flat Trigger spring under the trigger guard that's known to break. I have of these and had to cut, trim and fit new springs on both.

Allowing AR15 bolt to slam forward without a round

That would indicate there was a round in the chamber or something was wrong with the rifle. You never drop the bolt on a chambered round.

Allowing AR15 bolt to slam forward without a round

Exactly. I've never had a problem. What you don't want to do is drop the hammer when the receiver is open.

    Case lube shootout

I make my own. Lanolin and alcohol. I've been using the same bottle for a few years. Sometimes I use One Shot

Ongoing trouble with 30-30 sizing/decapping dies

One Shot is a great case lubricant. The best is my home made using Lanolin and alcohol in a spray bottle.

What gunsmithing or repairs have you done today

I just remembered that I accidentally doubled an order for an AR lower receiver a few years ago and packed it up when we moved. Now I'm in the process of digging through parts to see what I come up with. My spare parts will determine the outcome.

    AR buffer question.

That's correct. The AR15 has been perfected for many years and one of the best platforms ever designed. Low recoil was built into the design. I do have 1 mid length that has the H2 buffer in it and it runs reliably.

9mm Henry Homesteader….You're killing me Henry!

That's probably 2x what I have into my AR9 build.

9mm Henry Homesteader….You're killing me Henry!

What's the price on it? I have a 9mm AR and it's reliable and fun so the Henry in 9mm is probably a non starter for me. I'd like to see something like that in .30 Carbine or .357 but it is a pretty cool rifle

    Parkerizing question …

The green color came from age, oil and grease.

    Parkerizing question …

I would find another to suspend the barrel and plug it. I used modified rubber plugs to seal the barrels

    m1

If you wanted to replace the sights you can do that and still go back to what Gpa did. The front should be pinned in place and slide off the end of the barrel and the rear slides into the dovetail

Enfield round got stuck after firing - headspace issue?

This is what I was thinking. I wasn't sure since I don't have one to look at. Didn't they have gauge numbers stamped on the head?

    m1

The sights are after market. The rifle probably came with type 2 or type 3 sights. I think I see a W stamped on the barrel and the finish looks original. I'd like to see what the manufacture codes are on the other parts. This rifle might be an easy restoration. It's also a later serial number.

Enfield round got stuck after firing - headspace issue?

I don't think that's normal for a Enfield with the correct head space. Mine don't do that but they are also newer models from 1942 and 1945

    Unissued M1 Carbine Mags

There was a time when I could buy them for $2.00 at the gun shows. Everyone one had boxes of them on the tables.
