    Need info on Kahr Arms.

I carry a Kahr PM9 in a pocket holster. I bought it brand new a few months back, and it has functioned flawlessly from day 1. About 400 round through it and not a single problem of any kind. It's been fired by me as well as my girlfriend, who is very petite and has had problems with a...

SA 1911 - Where in Southeast Michigan?

Personally, I hate the service at Guns Galore. I much prefer to shop at Williams Gun Sight in Davison, which has a much larger selection of 1911s anyways. I haven't been there, but Firearms Exchange in Westland (also one in Livonia) is an STI dealer, so I assume they would have a good...

    A quick Glock question

I could be wrong as I do not own a Glock at all, let alone both of those you are asking about, but I remember reading that at least for the compact models the ones chambered in .40 and .357 have a couple metal bits in the frame that the 9mm models do not have. Meaning you could put a 9mm slide...

    Sig Franken Gun .....

I purchased a P220 CPO about a year and a half ago. It is the "normal" model, all black, no rail or night sights or anything fancy. The only odd thing is that the slide is marked "P220ST" which is for the full stainless model. Mine has an alloy frame. I don't think it's unusual for CPOs to...

Going to start reloading .45ACP ammo, what die?

benzuncle - Is the 4.0 to 4.5 grains of Bullseye for the 230gr 45ACP you posted correct? I loaded some at 4.5 and had very dirty cases and very low recoil. Most data I could find recommended 5.0 grains as a starting load.

Going to start reloading .45ACP ammo, what die?

I use the Lee dies and have no complaints, just wish I payed attention and got the carbide ones instead. I've been using bullseye for the powder, but using a RCBS powder measure (the one that comes with the rockchucker supreme) it doesn't meter well at all. Measuring out 5 grains I was...

    Ithaca 37 build help

Thanks, I appreciate the help. As for already having answered the question, I only have one 37 so "different stock attachment tang" really didn't do me any good, I had nothing to compare mine to. I hope that doesn't sound rude, as it is not meant in that way at all. I just needed...

    Ithaca 37 build help

I have an Ithaca 37 from 1953 (thanks Talon!) and I was wondering if this would be too old for the Choate stock to fit? If so, does anybody know of any replacement stock for this gun? Thanks

Home Defense Shotgun for Petite Female

Ok, we went shooting this past Saturday. She doesn't mind the recoil of the 12ga one bit. The problem with this is that I can't find a good choice of a shotgun that has a shorter barrel (20" or less), 12ga, and a youth length stock. If anybody knows of one, preferably with synthetic...

Home Defense Shotgun for Petite Female

First of all, thanks for all the responses, I never expected this many suggestions within a few hours of posting  I am greatly appreciative of all the help! I am trying to help my girlfriend choose a gun for home defense and while some of the suggestions are similar to thoughts I had...

Home Defense Shotgun for Petite Female

Hello all, What shotguns would you suggest for home defense use by a petite female? She is 4'11" and ~120lbs. I imagine both recoil and length of pull would be considerations here. She has fired my K31 (7.5x55 Swiss, approximately the same recoil as .308 or .30-06) and didn't find the...

    Lever action in 45LC

Marlin and Henry each make one, but both sell for around $700.

    What to buy?

I'd say it all comes down to how much you shoot. If it's enough to quickly recover the cost of the press with ammo savings, you can buy that now and then get the gun later anyways :D

    Common courtesy

Agreed. Also, I have a stripped lower for sale, first $400 takes it! (kidding of course)

How much is this Norinco SKS worth?

I bought one in the same condition (unfired) for $200 about a year ago. I think $250-300 is reasonable, but wouldn't pay more than that.

    stainless steel barrels... any downside?

Because it's hard to chrome line stainless. I believe all of our military rifles use chrome barrels because if it's ridiculously long life span and because it makes cleaning easier. Cost as well, I don't think you can hammer forge stainless steel.

    Cabela's Free Catalog

Well I buy in the retail store, not online. I like going there, it's a fun place to kill a few hours, so I don't mind spending money there when the prices aren't too out of line. They also sell benchmade knives (some exclusive ones too) which I like.

    Cabela's Free Catalog

Bummer, I spent over a grand there last year (reloading supplies, ammo, gun parts, knives, etc) but I went to one of the retail stores and paid with cash. I still just get the cruddy catalogs.
