Mercury Recoil Suppressor u have one?

A lot cheaper to fill the stock of your gun with birdshot. Better still to shoot one you can handle instead.

    Would a 30" 22LR barrel act as a silencer?

An awful lot of .22 loads teeter-totter between super and sub sonic, which is probably why you can find so many guns that shoot both sub and super sonic loads so well. A long enough barrel should be able to get a standard velocity bullet to subsonic... how long long enough is, however, is...

    Why I dislike Gander Mountain

Gander Mountain has ridiculous prices. As in, on reloading components, even common ones, they are often double Midway's prices. Their guns are sky high in value- a well used Bushy XM-15 is going for $1400 at the one nearest here. They had an Italian Carcano there I almost bought... it was...

12GA Will never be the same again!

Didn't read the entire thread, so I apologize if this has already been posted... but if anyone were feeling up to buying them, it looks like you need special sabots to get velocities that high. Load# 81022-189 HULL: FIOCCHI 12-gauge 2.75” (#06412600)(#0641216US)(#0641208)(#064121103)...

Is Wall-Mart’s 550 pack of golden bullets as good as the 525 pack?

It's definitely not the same stuff, by any means. A gun can jam if held incorrectly, but I like to think most THR members are intelligent enough to not limp wrist a gun then blame the ammo. Fact of life: A significant number of rimfires are very ammo sensitive.

    Lightest production rifle

I don't think they compare that way... the X-bolt is newer, but the Abolt is still produced. Both are very nice, not nearly so light as that Remington, but considerably cheaper.

Nice! Going to put a VFG on that monster?

    Question...

If it were a life or death shoot-no-shoot situation, I think my life is worth a good deal more than ANY gun. Use what's effective... if it were truly a justified shoot, I think you won't have too much trouble getting off in most places of the US.

Best Scope Under $150 for no more than 500yds

I have a Leapers 6-24X50 that I am very pleased with. It was cheap- $100 OTD- and works quite well. I can read signs clear as day at 500 yards or so. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=458410&t=11082005 It suits the purpose of the gun it is mounted on and to buy a...

Is Wall-Mart’s 550 pack of golden bullets as good as the 525 pack?

Federal Bulk pack is superior... or Federal Automatch, which is also wonderful. I've had no luck with the Golden Bullets... it does ok in some guns, but I also have more than a few in which it does not do so well.

    Strongest Quality Control...which guns?

All of those companies make good reliable guns and if they don't send you a flawless specimen right away they will make it right in short order. Although, my vote goes out to Sig.

    Ammo prices 75% off soon

I've noticed a slight tick downwards in prices. Especially in the 7.62X39 department, which makes me happy. But I don't know if we'll ever see the days of cheap 2000-2004 ammo again.

    Stag or Rock River Arms???

They did, or at least used to. A lot of those S&Ws have billet receivers, though, so idk the whole story there (I believe they are made by Sun Devil?). I've got to choose my words carefully there because I can't prove any of it, it's just what I've heard :p But, lots of ARs share...

    Lightest production rifle

NULA, but its probably over that price considering their inline muzzleloaders are 1300. Sub 5 pound rifles! http://www.newultralight.com/ The Browning A-bolts and X-bolts feel pretty light, for what its worth. And sometimes you can find a Weatherby MkV with a fluted barrel for sub 1k.

    Stag or Rock River Arms???

My most common build is a DPMS lower with RRA parts. That's excellent economy and quality!

    Confused about AR SBRs/pistols

It is confusing. With the way the ATF can be it seems like they could very easily charge someone with constructive intent simply for owning a AR pistol and AR rifle. Sorry I can't help more, but it would seem that if it were truly illegal to own both then we would hear of convicted gun owners...

    5.7x28mm for PS90

That hollowed out mag is awesome! Throw a can on that thing and it would be the ultimate backyard plinker... no need to pick up brass, the powder cost is negligible, and uses .22 bullets.

    Saiga 12 or GSG 5?

Saiga-12, you're looking at an investment about double that of the SG once you factor in the conversions and all that that everyone wants to do to them. Not to mention the magazines are spendy! That said, both are cool guns, and most people who bought the GSG-5s seem to love them... at least...

    Another Ithaca 37/87 question

I posted a thread a little while ago about looking at an Ithaca 87. I liked it so much that I bought it, and was offered another one at a very low price with the one caveat that it had some trouble feeding. It is also an Ithaca 87 Featherweight in 20 gauge. The problem is that the little fins...

    casting in a fireplace?

Regardless of whether there is significant lead in the air or not, if you do as poor a job as I do in getting the adhesive off of WWs then your house will smell pretty bad in short order :)
