    Ace Ain't the Place......

If there's a genuine fastener supply company in your neck of the woods, they might have them. I have found gun screws, taps and dies at the old fashioned family owned type hardware stores. But unfortunately they are getting mighty hard to find.

    Springfield armory M1A question

An M1 or M1A with anything other than wood furniture just doesn't seem right at all. Unless the synthetic stuff delivered a real measurable accuracy benefit, it's gotta' be wood.

Some WYSHOT videos- 960 yards-10" wide plate

Well, heck, before seeing the video, I was expecting to see it being done with a Glock 19. Just kidding. That's quite a shot, even for a flat shooting rifle. Guess being able to hit a clay bird at 100 yards has lost its charm, now.

    Ace Ain't the Place......

You might want to go back and try again without their help.

bothersome range sessions with friends (sometimes)

In most all activities that I've gotten involved with, seeking out the people who really know what they are doing has always seemed like the best approach. The same with shooting - no sharing required. Other than maybe with folks who are new to guns, probably strangers, who are already there...

    40S&W / 10mm sabot rounds using 9mm/30 cal bullets?

bds, Why not give it a try. The worst that can happen is that the experiment will keep you off the streets and out of the bars for awhile.

Which 1911 for USPSA single stack

At 400 rounds a month, your Kimber (or any brand name 1911) should last at least about 25 years or so. Probably lots more. If it runs now, it will run then, with minor attention. But if you're looking for an excuse to buy another one, Yes, you need another one, for sure. We all do.

    If you were King.

The club mentioned used to do just that. Free match for those who helped set up or take down. Mostly as a thank you. It made a difference, though. One way to get folks to help is to wait until there's enough people arriving, open the storage barn and ask it they'd like to set up the stages...

    Someone please 'splain something?

Hmm, Before getting to the part where they both have the same flash suppressor, it might have been that one had a muzzle brake. But that's out. Then maybe it could have been a difference in buffer/recoil springs that might account for some difference in recoil - but doubtful for that amount. So...

What happened to the post WW1 Central Powers Firearms

And folks wonder why we find the world of guns so fascinating. There's always new surprises.

What happened to the post WW1 Central Powers Firearms

Might have gone to other countries for their armies. Japan, China, Africa, South America maybe? There's always a war. One ends and another begins. International weapons trade seems to be an ongoing business.

Puerto Rico wins law suit - open/concealed carry w/o permit and no permit to purchase

They might be better off not, and staying as independent as possible.

Winchester 73 found in National Park

I read an article fairly recently that said that amateurs have made more important archeology discoveries than anyone.

    Correct Screwdrivers

When in doubt, grind your own. Learned that from a genuine gunsmith. He kept a lot of ordinary screwdrivers on hand and adjusted the tips as needed on his trusty grinding wheel. So, that got added to my repertoire of in-field repair techniques.

Wet delivery box - powder and primers

No ovens, please. Inadvertently did that with one piece of just washed brass among hundreds. It still had a live primer. Very impressive.

Winchester 73 found in National Park

Sorry to hear that. Just when ya' get to the time of life when there's plenty of time, and maybe even enough money, to have fun, Mother Nature has other plans. Best wishes.
