That looks just about the right location and type of facility (she will likely appreciate the ladies only option). Thank you!

Gun Shop and Class in Allentown

Hello, Can someone recommend a reputable gun shop/range in the Allentown, PA area for a lady who is unfamiliar with firearms but needs to purchase one for self defense? Would like one that will take the time to explain gun safety and proper handling and even perhaps allow her to try...

    M&P9 - anyone like?

I Like It Been shooting one (M&P 9mm full size) for a few years and I like it a lot. I've put some pretty lousy ammo through it and it chews through without issue. I have found it to be accurate, reliable, and comfortable to shoot. My wife likes it as well.

    Securing Home from Break-In

This is a great way to secure doors from the inside: http://www.buyhardwaresupplies.com/?t=5&m=g1&itemNumber=5307368 Can even take it with you for use in hotels, etc. If you have a sliding glass door, you can cut a short piece of split two-by-four to do the same thing. Place in the...

    Who Carries at home?

Yes I asked this question a while back and someone responded "100% of home invasions happen at home." That was enough for me. I have little ones too and I think it's safer ON me than near me when they are concerned because it's in my control. They ask about it sometimes and I try very hard...

OH Concealed Carry for PA Resident

I live just north of Pittsburgh, so the OH border is only a half hour or so away. Thank you for the alternative. There is a lot of overlap in the FL and PA permits, so perhaps UT will result in a better overall coverage in addition to the cheaper cost.

OH Concealed Carry for PA Resident

I know this has been covered before, but most posts are pre-2006 so I wanted to get updated information. I have PA CC and would like to obtain Ohio. It would appear that the best route is Florida (which appears to grant non-resident permits and enjoys reciprocity with Ohio). Anyone try this...

    P3AT Spare Parts

Any recommendation for spare parts to keep on hand for a KelTec P3AT? I'm thinking recoil springs as they seem to take a nasty beating from the 380 rounds (empties landed about 10 feet straight behind me).

    12GA Recoil

Try something that is has a ported barrel. I've found that makes my 12GA much more fun to shoot.

Mossberg 500 & Remington 870 - pros and cons only

My 500 is ported which seriously reduces recoil (and seriously increases noise!). I'm able to shoot shells by the box full without issue. Not sure if the 870 is ported. I would think it "could" be.

    .357 magnum recoil question?

I shoot both .38 and .357 through my 2.75" J-Frame and while I can handle both, I will tell you that I very much prefer shooting .38. :o Let him cycle through a few rounds of .357, but be prepared to let him switch back to .38. I suspect you'll find that his form and his "enjoyment" are both...

    easiest holster to conceal?

You forgot one: pocket holster. I find that to be by far the easiest carry method for me. Admittedly it limits the gun you can carry a bit, but I can still pack 5 rounds of .357 Mag in a controllable weapon pretty easily.

    .22 Lr

Marlin Model 60 Shoots accurately, very reasonably priced. I've been very pleased with mine (I bought it used with a scope). You can buy new for $120-140 in the US.

Mossberg 500 & Remington 870 - pros and cons only

Mossberg I prefer Mossberg for three reasons: 1) Top mount safety (thumb instead of index finger) 2) Slide release behind trigger guard (easier to reach) 3) Price (I got mine for a ridiculous $189)

Still waiting on your S&W rebate?

M&P 9mm Purchased in March, rebate check in April, mags in May. Mag follower was light grey (all others I've seen have been black) so I got the impression they were running low on stock.

Girlfriend is hesitant about going to the shooting range...

Agreed! And the fact that the instructor is simply not the husband seems to lend itself to a "willingness to listen" too.
