    Another of today's finds. S&W 916-A

I think that's wise. Short of just keeping the thing around as a curiosity / "It's a SMITH!", I'd leave it be.

Lost confidence in Hornady Critical Defense

Sucks, but I'd consider ditching the lot an overreaction. Hornady is known quality, and even good stuff can miss a beat here or there. My personal experience, YMMV. If nothing else, it should reinforce your malf drill practice. Complacency kills.

    High Standard/ Colt 9mm 1911 price check

Readers Digest version, A buddy's wife inherits several pistols from her father's collection, and wants to sell them but doesn't know how much they're worth. I figured "what better source of collective knowledge than THR to pester for help"! First up, a Gov't model 1911 in 9mm, that some...

    Matched wedding guns..

Getting married in a month or so, and the wife-to-be says we should get a pair of pistols with whatever money we get as wedding gifts. What do you guys think would look good paired up? Anything we get becomes an instant heirloom piece, so we won't be getting rid of them. I'd also...

    Tazer in Chicago?

Best case scenario, carry the OC and deal with the consequences later. If she ever needs it, some dumb socialist law will be the least of her worries . Hey Don, you're from IL, any idea on what violating that law gets you?

Should 18 Year Olds Be Allowed to CCW?

Absolutely not. Having been 18 fairly recently, I'll consider my opinion the expert one. One exemption would be Armed Forces. If you're old enough to serve your country, you've proven that you can be trusted to CCW without issue. And drink alcohol, if you want. FYI, I haven't...

    Guns got taken away!

The part where a KID needs these weapons past their legal use. Perhaps I'm reading too much into this, but outside of the Police Explorers, you don't need to be throwing your weight around with mace and asp, goes 2x if you're 15

    Guns got taken away!

You mentioned your "explorers belt", by that would you mean the Police Explorers program? My opinion, bide your time. I had several guns at 15, much like you, but all in my dad's safe. See if your dad can get them back, under his control, and then "borrow" them from him when you want to go...

    CC Newby

Welcome to the world of CCW! There are all kind of options available to you, just pick a weapon that suits you, and accessorize from there. check the used holster bins at gunshows, they more often than not will save you money. past that, go shopping, and buy a holster you really like, that...

    winchester 1897 age??

A lady I know just brought a couple of shotguns over to the house that were owned by her late father. One of these is an old Winchester 1897, the other a Marlin "Goose Gun" (it has a big arse 35" bbl!). As best I can tell, the Marlin is of 1970's vintage. My google-foo is too weak to come...
