    Former Spokesman Fires At NRA

I'm sorry I used to be a member but I can't see them doing squat about the real issue which is the NFA and '68 Gun Control Act. I don't believe in compromising our rights away. In the mi-80's we got back the right to import and buy obsolete military bolt actions. But once the supply dries up...

    Do you believe in ghosts?

Belive in them? Yes to some extent. Fear them? Nope. Seen some? Maybe. You don't need a physical weapon to take care of them if you wear the armour of God. And no guys and gals I'm not talking about something in a video game. BTW- If this post came up due to Halloween. Know...

    Mosin Nagant rear sight Mod

I've done the about same thing with various mil surps in the past, by filing down the underside of the slider on the rear sight. Unless the rifle is given an "expert eye" going over no one will notice.

    New to FAL

Don't discount the "cheaper" FAL type rifles. If you know what you are looking for you can latch onto a bargin. For example a Century, yes I said the horrid "C" word, FAL/L1A1 built in Canada on either a Argentine or Imbel reciever and under $600 would be a good find. It's the stuff of...

    Hi Point Pistols & Carbines

No, all things being equal a fixed vs floating barrel have the capacity to be just as accurate or inaccurate. What matters is how consistant the lock up and movement of their respective designs from shot to shot. For example if you benched a HK VP7OZ 9mm along with a Hi-Point 9mm(Both are...

Why is the gun culture still stuck in the 1960s?

To tell you the truth I think the big cleft in the gun culture are those in the Printed Media vs. The Internet. To me the Printed Media is full of archiac thought, marketing and compromiser's; Fud's and Zumboites as I call them. On the Interenet you get more free excahnge of ideas in...

    Hi Point Pistols & Carbines

They ain't bad but for what they are but I have 3 handguns I bought within the year that ran me only $50-$70 more. 1). CZ83 2). Ruger Sec-Six 3). Argy FM made P35 But if you need something for defense right now and have a limited budget I can see the merits of them. BTW- I agree...

    HERESY: I hate the Ruger 10/22 !

The only time I've had a bad 10/22 was the 2nd used one I had. A new ejector, ejector spring and extractor and it ran like a top. My latest one I bought used in like new condition and found out the previous owner did the bolt lock conversion and a trigger job. Only trouble it gave me was...

    Long Range Calibers

The word "magnum" sells a rifle. The word "skill" wins a match. Get the .308 and get more trigger time and less wear on yourself and the rifle. If you don't reload it's the way to go. Decent match ammo can be bought off the shelf for the .308. Notice I said decent not the best. The...

Better Utility Caliber, .22 or .380?

You could get a matching set of Bersa's in each caliber. As for as I know there is no Makaorv in .22lr only a eccentric conversion kit. Walther does the PPK in .380 but I can't recall if they do a .22 in that or just the TPH??? Now at risk of sounding like a "glock fanboy" if you want...

    annoying glock fanboy

Sportsmans Warehouse eh? They must have to hire one of "those guys" per each store. Meaning a ____fanboy or anti_____snob. Me I'm sick and tired of them being out of popular reloading components almost everytime I go there. Which ain't much anymore.

Myth? Open mouth while shooting to prevent hearing damage?

In relation to small arms yes it's a myth. It's used in relation to artillery and explosives. But what's not mentioned is your cover you ears firmly with your hands also. Which would work with firearms only if you were not shooting. And it's still not as good as proper hearing...

    Long distance shooting,HELP!

First I'll be honest and state I have zero experience with the 25-06. I do have a decent amount shooting a Sendero in .300WM at 600yds though. I've found hot humid air will raise a bullets impact. So maybe a heavy down ward mist, though colder, may lower it???
