    AK47 Pistol?

Now that I think about it. It wouldn't be such a bad idea to have a set-up like this in your car in addition to your regular carry piece. Should you need some heavy back-up with good penetration, it would be a fairly handy item to have.

    Winchester Gurus ???

Here's a link to a Winchester serial number look-up site. Just click on the model number, enter the serial, and it will spit you a date. However, I tried your serial, and it won't take any letters. Sorry. http://armscollectors.com/sn/windates.htm

    45 Colt ammo ?

I second the Buffalo Bore. Its the hottest thing you'll find out there, unless you handload...just hang on tight. I use it in my Winchester Trapper, with lighter loads in my Vaquero. http://www.buffalobore.com

So why buy anything other than a Vaquero...

Thanks, guys for the replies. If doing just cowboy shooting, I suppose I might look at some of the clones out there, but as this will be a hunting back-up, I think the Vaquero would best be suited for "bear-intensive" loads. I appreciate it.:)

...when selecting a traditional single action cowboy-type pistol? There are several Colt clones out there in addition to the SAA, and none of them can hold up to the abuse a Ruger Vaquero can handle. Why buy a Colt clone for more money than Ruger Vaquero? It would seem that the Vaquero can...

Camping in WA. Can I bring my rifle w/ me?

Hi Gang, Here's a section of the Revised Code of Washington pertaining to the possession of arms. As I read it, State Park officials may not curb your right to possess firearms if you are hiking or camping, or "engaging" in other outdoor activities. As a general rule, I would not display...

When SPD brought a semiautomatic assault rifle to protest, what were they expecting

Perhaps my statement about carrying UNLOADED rifles in a street protest was misinterpreted by some. I have no beef with Law Enforcement carrying AR15s, MP5s, AKs, whatever. There are situations that merit those types of weapons. If I were an LEO, I'd certainly want as much firepower as...
