    Mossberg magazine

I have a Mossberg 500 12 ga pump , 1988 vintage riot gun, 18 1/2 inch barrel. Can anyone tell me if the next longer magazine can be put on this gun thus giving 2 more rounds for the gun. I've also heard there is an extension available but havn't been able to find any info on that.

    Magazines..loaded/unloaded

I'm not into automatics very much but just purchased a Glock 26 for the wife to carry. I hear pro and con about filling the spare magazines and leaving them that way for however long. I don't personally see any harm in it, the one in the gun is kept loaded all the time.

    38 Long Colt cartridges BP

Old dog..new tricks ? First off I want to thank everyone for the suggestions and opinions I received regarding these "impossible cartridges" that I was looking for. 38 Long Colt cartridges BP

The R&D conversion cylinders, according to Mfg's instructions, require a "hollow base" bullet. Can anyone tell me where this specific style cartridge can be purchased ? I find 38 long colt, black powder but none with hollow base.

    Bp shot shells

I shoot a vintage BP,1870, double 12, exposed hammers damascus barrels. Gun, visual inspection, appears safe..no rust, bores bright and clean, wood is excellent, mechanically good, locks up tight. I buy and use, sparingly, custom BP 00 shot shells, 2 1/2 inch, 3 drams of BP which I been told is...

    Glenfield/Marlin 70

I acquired a Glenfield/Marlin model 70 22 cal rifle and with it came a couple problems. 1. It is very inconsistant in firing..seven rd magazine put it in the gun, pull the bolt back and most of the time will fire the first round but if it doesn't then eject the first round manually and 90% of...

    Rifle recomendations

I am out of touch with new modern day rifles and since I feel that the time is such that I should move up to new and better firepower, self protection and defense, I would like some opinions as to what would fill my needs and requirements or expectations. I realize the Army carbine is outdated...

Guns WILL be banned, and banned soon.

I'm proud to say I'm from South Dakota where guns are second nature. In a recent news article the Brady Bunch were very concerned about South Dakota because in their rating of states in regard to gun control South Dakota out of a possible score of 100 has a score of 6. We are going to try for 0...

    Traffic Stop AAR

Interesting opinions. I'm just an old,70+, retired cowboy. Been all over these United States, had a lot of contacts with law enforcement ,some good, some bad but through it all I found a policy that worked for me. I always tried to be polite to the officer, may not have wanted to; do what he...

    us post office

My daughter sells BP guns on GunBroker and ships all the guns USPS. There is no restrictions on USPS BP gun shipping. However be aware of State and Federal laws regarding the sales and shipping that you don't make an illegal shipment whether using UPS, FedEx, USPS or any other means.

    Suppose It's 1864

I'm curious to a couple of statements more or less implying that a cylinder loaded with black powder and then sealed with wax on the nipple and over the ball could remain that way for an extended time. Black powder is extremely corrosive to steel especially with rusting, the wax seal would...

51' smithy help? (likely to be moved)

I took one 1851 apart to compare the VTI bolt to the one in the gun. It would take a lot of modification to ever fit right. The hole in the bolt assembly for the frame bolt is even wrong, to small, certainly not an ASM part. Sorry I could'nt be of any help except I would be very careful if...

51' smithy help? (likely to be moved)

I never had any reason to compare them to one in a gun. If you want I can take one of my ASM's apart, I have several 1851's, and compare them to the one in the gun. Couldn't do it until tomorrow evening but be more than glad to if you want.
