    FFL Transfer Fees

I pay the background check fee. And I always buy some ammo or something with it, so he makes SOMETHING.

    Waterproof targets?

If you don't mind spending a premium on it, and I don't particularly suggest it, Rite in the Rain makes targets I'm pretty sure. I use their memos and notepads for all my field work, but they are not exactly cheap.

    Why is a 20" Mossberg 500 12 ga. 7+1, but a 20" 12 ga. 590 8+1?

Different design of the magazine tube, and probably the follower as well. The magazine tube as more room, on the way the barrel couples to it alone. On the 590, it goes around the tube and the end holds it on. On the 500, it actually attaches to the front of the tube (which forces a shorter...

    M1 Carbine Mag Question

They are all I use. I don't even have experience with GI magazines. I got three mags when I got my carbine, still in the wrappers. Korean mags. I bought two more at my local gunshop, for $10 each. Out of the roughly thousand rounds I have through them, I have yet to have a failure.

    Best M1 Carbines?

For accuracy, the maker matters a lot less than what condition the barrel is in, and how well the parts fit together. I have an Inland-based mixmaster (well, only the charging handle/oprod, stock, and sights are different. Underwood oprod, RIA everything else) that I have found to be very...

    Class 3 FFL lead time

You mean Type Three, or a Special Occupational Tax class? Because Type Three is C&R, and to get an SOT 3, you need to already have an FFL of type 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11. Considering their processing time for LOTS of different things in the government, I would expect them to come to a crawl...

    Best small carbine or rifle

Though I did say M1 Carbine to be strict to answering the question, the true answer would be a PISTOL. Smaller, easier to use, and won't make you quite as deaf at the end. Not to mention taking extremely less time to deploy.

    Mossberg 500 trouble

If you ONLY removed a part from the wood or synthetic making up the fore end, and no metal, you might just not be pumping hard enough! I had that exact problem when I first bought mine. They LIKE to be handled rough. Try pumping it like you mean it.

    Importance of chamber size (2 3/4", 3", 3.5") in an 870?

Yeah, because it's OLD. The 870 has been around FOREVER now. People buy them because they are "better", but they are only "better" because of the status quo that "this is what has been used for generations, so of COURSE it is the best!" It's not particularly superior to pretty much every...

New Mossberg 500 only holds two rounds...?

Have you tried taking the barrel off, and then LOADING THREE ROUNDS? It ought to push the dowel out of the screw hole. If not, then you DO have to take the mag tube off because it somehow isn't aligned with the hole anymore.

    HD shotguns for women

Nothing wrong with a levergun in .357/.38. Even heavy loads don't kick too much. PROBLEM IS, could she work the lever? And they are a bit more expensive.

Starbucks should say "Yes" to Brady Campaign

It's a real statistic. 5.5 times more likely. It's not accidental shootings, it's shooting innocent bystanders. It was a study by Carol Ruth Silver and Donald B. Kates Jr.

    DA/SA Semi auto shotgun

I suppose the overwhelming number of people who carry a pistol with a round chambered are frickin' idiots then, huh? Every second counts, and SPECIFICALLY choosing the less advantageous path isn't smart.
