    Dan Wesson Barrel Issue 4"

I have a .357 mag I bought used with no history. It has an 8" barrel. It is a Monsan 150xxx S/N so Im calling it a 15-2 from some earlier research. I bought a 4" barrel assembly (not a porkchop shroud neither is my 8"). When I set my gap at .006" then slip on the shroud the barrel does not...

    Is a J frame enough?

Im in as low a profile lifestyle possible my profile will only be lower when Im dead and I carry my 1911 10+1 either in a shoulder holster or on my hip when I go to town. I shoot it a lot and if I had a shorter barreled .44mag it would be the one, I shoot it a lot to. Would I take it to a...

I can see THIS is going to take lots of practice!

Well be sure of one thing, the number of rounds you put down range in practice will determine how you advance in standing. Practice is the key to improvement. I'd put the extra bucks in my practice ammo box and measure the rim thickness and sort for match ammo.

Wood rifle stock fans speak up!

I always had a poo poo attitude about plastics and lam's until I fitted a .220Rocket M77 into a laminate and the gun never moved. dont care too much for the looks of the laminate stock but for overall performance it really is my choice for predictability.

It was not on the carrasol but was being held by a security person (long before TSA) at his podium all other passangers had left the area and I was still standing there. I saw this guy sitting at his podium watching me and I walked...

    Savage bolt disassembly question

I have a new model 12 BVSS with an Accutrigger. To remove the the firing pin assembly and spring in my Ruger 77 was simple, push the lug, insert a pin to hold it back and unscrew and remove the assembly. I want to do the same thing on my Savage bolt. It has a 1/4" hex in the back of the bolt...

string left to right (or right to left)

I'm going to be looking very closely at the Bushnell. Never had one before. I've used my 10x Redfield for many years and broke the adjusting knob off by accident and hoping to get it repaired. I was always very pleased with it. I know there are much better scopes available but the prices have...

string left to right (or right to left)

I'll check my bags and see if I can improve the set-up. I was prone and the front and rear seemed secure but I'll relook at it when I get it set-up. Cheek weld is a problem I think a pad might be in order. Parallax in the back of my mind with the new scope may be playing into it to. I...

string left to right (or right to left)

I think I can rule out barrel / stock as the barrel is free of contact with the stock at least before firing. The action is glass bedded and I can slide a business card between the barrel and stock all the way back to the receiver and its free. I going to shoot it again tomorrow if its calm...
