When I first bought my Savage in .223 back in the 90s, I bought surplus ammo for it, Later I started to reload and did reload to an OAL that was a couple thousands off the Ogive. Accuraccy was always subMOA from the bench at 100 yards. :)

Colt Series 80 .38 super, pleasant to shoot, if it weren't so hard to find now I'd shoot it more often. If you are a 1911 .45 shooter then you will have a good time shooting it. Wish ammo were cheaper also :o
If he is a die hard 9mm shooter, then he should know about the Sigs and the Glocks. If he is an experienced shooter, then he will know which pistols he should look into.

Being a .45 shooter, the recoil of the 239 in .40 caliber is quite managable. The 9mm is easier and cheaper to shoot. The model itself is an excellent firearm. You can't go wrong with a Sig.
