There are many Gen 3 G19's on the market and their prices are dropping.

Reliabilty for both is excellent. 19 will carry better and both 17 round and 33 round mags will fit in either.
I bought a 17 first and regretted it for cc purposes.

Not a slide release. It is a slide stop. You are supposed to RTB with 2 hands.
Excessive use of the slide stop can wear it down.
Also, slamming the mag home can do this for you. Though it will also lead to wear.
