Have been phoning and emailing Lone Wolf since Monday morning and I can't reach anybody. This is a warranty related inquiry and I'm getting frustrated.
Their phone number has even stopped attempting to connect me to a person and goes straight to the voice mail message they use when they're...
Can anyone point me to a discussion or a technique that might get the "blue" finish on my Uberti looking more like an original Colt from back in the day (ie, I'm not trying to "antique" or distress this gun)
One technique I found was this guy and his results look quite nice. However, I don't...
With almost no exception, folks report that conicals in Colt reproduction revolvers are not as accurate as round balls. Is there any wisdom here as to WHY that's the case?
Is it simply because conicals are difficult to load squarely? Or is it more because the rifling in repros is not...
Cut my teeth on 45acp so never really worried about how may times I reloaded my brass. It seemed that for high volume, non-precision shooting in a low pressure, taper crimped cartridge, trackign brass never seemed worth the hassle.
However, now that I'm spending a lot of time with higher...
I signed up for MidwayUSA's alerts whenever they get powder in.
Today I responded in record time (<5 minutes) to an alert for Alliant Unique 1# and it was already ALL GONE! This was the second this happened to me. Then I see "maximum order 48"!
MidwayUSA would be doing us all a...
Another thread here prompts me to ask a question that has been bugging me.
We all know it's illegal to have an non-SBR AR lower and a <16" bbl upper, even if the two are never assembled together.
What happens if I have one, non-SBR lower and one SBR lower along with more than one, <16" uppers...
Never ever been dove hunting before.
I have a 12ga O/U gun that I use for sporting clays. It's a good size for me and I can swing it pretty well when tracking the known trajectory of clay birds.
But it's also 8 pounds and I've heard tell that doves don't like to fly in nice parabolic...
Can anyone tell me the rear dovetail dimensions that H&K uses on their pistols?
I have a P30 and there are not that many rear sight options. I'm wanting to know if I can:
a)modify the dovetail on another type of sight to fit the HK cut?
OR
b)modify the sight cut on the slide to accept a...
I reload handgun ammunition on a Lee Turret using a Lee Adjustable Charging bar.
Normally I load low-medium pressure loads in 45 and 44 calibers. I know that the powder charge that gets dispensed can vary, and that the motion of the press is enough to affect the final charge. So, I try to be...
Ok, I've decided that I really really want either a 500 Wyoming Express or a 500 Linebaugh :what: :)
I'm leaning more toward the WE because I can get a revolver faster :p and the gun itself will be slightly smaller than a Ruger Bisley converted to .500 Linebaugh. However, I'm not sure I...
Looking for good, objective information on ammunition performance and real world tactical considerations.
So far, I have only been able to find this site: http://www.firearmstactical.com/
The data looks good but it is pretty dated. Are there any similar sites that are kept up to date?
Wanted to get the expert opinion on a new Smith that I own.
Long story short is that I have a factory-new N-frame (IL and MIM) and it has already been back to the factory twice over the last four months for repairs. Each time it arrived back home it had a new cylinder. This last time it...
Can I convert a 1851 Uberti Navy using a Krist Konverter Ring and a Uberti Richards and Mason cylinder?
I'd like to use the Uberti cylinder instead of the Krist cylinder because the Uberti one is "engraved".
Thanks for any help!
Got a brand new Ruger Blackhawk and I just noticed that the action is slightly out of time (if i cock it real slow, the sear catches just before cylinder bolt).
Sounds like a warranty repair, right?
However, the trigger on this gun is not great either and I was already going to schedule an...
Very frustrating...I'm having major ignition problems with my S&W 22-4 45ACP.
The failures all look like light primer strikes and the rounds will generally go BANG with a second strike.
Ignition failure:
1)occurs with and without moon clips.
2)occurs with both Winchester and CCI primers...
Well, I'm a bit out of date when it comes to defensive pistol ammo. Going to renew my CHP so want to choose a good load.
Curious to know what the new "favorite" load is/are for 45ACP (civilian) defensive use. As the title says, I run a 4" gun and a 5" gun.
Thanks.
New S&W 22-4 (so, a 6 shot revolver).
Something looks weird about how the cylinder indexes--if you look @ the (unloaded) gun from the front, the chambers don't look perfectly even as they line up. It looks like the cylinder is always a tiny bit over-rotated.
Then I looked at the flutes to...
i have a brand new S&W 22-4.
i just noticed that it does not like to extract 45AR cartridges--the extracter will pull them out of the chamber and then most/all of the cases will slip UNDER the star and become jammed between the star and the cylinder
this is incorrect behavior, right...
I'm looking for a good smith (not Hamilton Bowen--I'd like not to wait a year ;) ) to do some minor work on a revolver cylinder. Work would entail chamfering the chambers and some cosmetic work on the exterior.
Anybody pop to mind?
Am I wrong in thinking that for a given 45ACP loading, the pressure of that load in a revolver (same absolute bbl length) will be slightly LESS than in an auto because of the b-c gap? If so, can I then load 45ACPs slightly hotter in a revolver and still stay w/in pressure specs?
