Shotgun News; build Semi-auto STEN part 2??

semi-auto sten? So...how hard is it to build? Specialized tools needed? I'd love to have a sten in my collection. If if sounds like an average-skilled person can do it, perhaps I'll pick up those back issues... Keith

    Moving Ammunition

Some of the stuff I have I really don't wanna part with. I stocked up on Barnaul when it was available (blue box, 762 and 545), Lake city 556 and US 308Nato, plus a case or three of various +P+ defense ammo in pistol calibers. Very expensive to replace, if even possible (545 seems very rare...

    Moving Ammunition

Oddly, these guys are agents for NorthAmerican, and NorthAmerican is one of the ones the NRA does list. I emailed NorthAmerican for clarification.

    Moving Ammunition

florida to reno is 3k miles; i'm flying, not driving. Airlines :) Mover is fine with guns (locked in safe), just not the ammo. I guess if other quotes come in from ammo-friendly companies I'll give them my business... Moving is a pain.

    Moving Ammunition

I have lots of ammo. I buy in bulk and like to have lots on hand (maybe 7k rounds in various calibers). No way I can shoot it all (or would, even).

    Moving Ammunition

I was thinking toolboxes, and locking them. Then the movers aren't moving ammo, they are moving tools....

    Moving Ammunition

Looks like I will be making a log distance move real soon now...just got a quote a mover. He refuses to move my ammo. His claim is that the interiors of the trucks get so hot that the ammo can explode. I've seen rifles shot so fast that the barrel temp made hanguards smoke, and the ammo...

    Hell's Angel Shooting

Daytona Beach is Outlaw territory; all serious clubs here are outlaw approved..even some of the mom&pop clubs. Last little while I've been hearing that HA graffitti has been showing up at a few of the neutral bars in town. Some guys I know (and know of) that didn't carry have started (all...

    opinions on cx4 storm

Sadly, a good amount of the FCG is plastic. Now some people do trigger jobs on these, and results are apparently good. Raw trigger (on mine) was a tad over 9 pounds. With polish, 4-5 is supposed to be doable. (I have yet to do anything significant to mine...afraid of messing the plastic up..)...

Protestors march against more secure U.S. border

I can only speak for myself, but I *am* an immigrant. I am still a 'non-permanent alien' after may years, and many thousands of dollars spent, and because paperwork has been dragged by the .gov SO long will be losing all I have done so far, and have to restart (long ugly story). But now...

    Boo Beretta!!

Some berettas are left friendly.... The CX4 storm can be swapped to left hand config in a matter of minutes; I *think* the PX4 line can as well.

Teen arrested after showing handguns on blog

Hmm...not the wisest thing to say in public. Especially when accompanied by pictures of yoursefl armed. Not that I'm saying this should (or shouldn't) be illegal, but it is on the list of "things my kid knows better to do, or he's gonna get his butt kicked". Some kids are born with no...

    How authorities talk about guns?

Art -- Straw purchase doesn't depend on the person's eligibility. If someone gives you money to buy a weapon for them, straw purchase, even if they are elligible. If YOU buy it, and give it to them as a gift (no strings attached), no straw purchase. But if you give a weapon as a gift...

    1911 Magazine

Been reading LOTS on how important the mag is for proper feeding in 1911s. Mine dont always feed well, I seriously suspect my mags. Which make (or makes) of mag are the "gold standard" that will make my 1911s feed smooth like butter? Or is there no "for all occasions, for all 1911s" perfect...

    Hirtenberger SMG Ammunition Debunked

So then the Hirt ball 9mm that is for sale is normal 9mm, but slightly hotter to get the +P+ (which I've heard means it exceeds SAAMI by > 20%)? I thought that the difference between subgun 9mm and 'normal' 9mm was simply that the subgun is hotter....or is it that is is hotter, but by more...

    10/22 kits just for fun!

The ak74 10/22 clone: http://krinkerplinker.com/ Not as pricey as the ironwoods, but still enough to make it a tough call. I'm sure your ammo savings over a real AK would make up the difference though (reviews I've seen have been all positive....)

    7.62 NATO vs. .308 Winchester

There is a FAQ posted at the falfiles forum showing extreme detail; between the two rounds -- there is a small size difference, and .308 is higher pressure. However, that does not say if it is safe ot not. Personally, I contacted my rifle's manufacturer (DSA) and asked -- they say all of...

Booming economy needs more H-1B visas

Here is the beauty of H1Bs... "replaced by someone in India" doesnt happen...becuase that Indian dude comes *here*, and gets paid prevailing wage. No incentive to hire him, *if* americans are available (legal costs and hassle makes companies shy away from H1Bs) Don't get H1Bs confused...

Booming economy needs more H-1B visas

pete, You are thinking of the wrong visas -- H1B's are working visa's, not educational ones. To get an H1B, you *already* have that education. The educations visas (Fs maybe) are fine, I think, but rather than grants and scholarships, those on the visa's should pay *extra* so that US...

The F.B.I. Knocked on my door yesterday

They ( fbi/police) aren't always out to get *you*. They could be actually chasing a 'real' bad guy. I've heard that they do that, sometimes ;) If they are investigating a crime that you may have unknowingly witnesses (or have other information), withholding it could be a bad thing. We...
