I have an old pump I still use every year for squirrel, rabbit, and even dove. I shoot pretty well with hit so, I stick with what I know. I'm glad to be able to still get all kinds/ varieties of ammo for it.
I love my CZ52. It is a well built, good quality gun. I do find it suitable for SD for the reason stated above. I use Wolf hp's in the gun with 2 spare mags full of fmj's. No hiding from that.
The only downside(that is very easily fixed with resonably priced aftermarket parts) is the brittle...
I think cloudcroft nailed it. I carry my CZ with one mag full of hp's and two with FMJ. 7.62x25 is a hot little(?) round watch what is behind your target... you will likely make two holes with each shot.
