Uberti navy trigger vs bolt screw

Curiosity got the best of me so I disassembled the gun. One screw is just barely longer than the other. I had the longer as my trigger screw, so I think I have not accidentally swapped them. Thanks

Uberti navy trigger vs bolt screw

Hello everyone, I can see the parts diagram list different part numbers for the trigger vs bolt screw. However the screws look so very similar. How can you tell if you have accidentally swapped them after disassembly? Thanks.

Are they still making Remington 10 percussion caps?

Yes! I saw a page worth of scammer sites trying to "sell" them for half the price I have seen them, that's ridiculous. I can only see a tin or two on GB, I am not paying $20 for 100 caps. Any legitimate site suggestions would be welcome.

Are they still making Remington 10 percussion caps?

I am down to my last few tins of my Remington 10 percussion caps. With the whole Remington restructuring, did they resume making their percussion caps? Does anyone know a place where I could at least put myself on a backorder list? I have Googled everywhere and had no luck.

    Brand new Uberti 1861 observations

I did not make the bolt drop late. I am talking about the cylinder locking once the bolt has already dropped. With a short hand, the bolt drops, then the hammer goes into full cock, and you have to pull the hammer a little further back to give the cylinder that last degree of rotation that makes...

    Brand new Uberti 1861 observations

Here’s an update on the gun: I found the wedge to be extremely loose on this new gun. Only way to have it tight was to take the retaining screw out and drive the wedge completely through until it bottomed out. That was disappointing. I went ahead and JB welded some washers and ground it down...

    Brand new Uberti 1861 observations

I'm sure the old one can be resurrected, but I've already spent way too much time one it. I'm going to devote my time to getting the new one right. I'm thinking about having the trigger guard and backstrap nickle plated so it looks like the silver plated on original civilian guns.

    Brand new Uberti 1861 observations

My 14 year old Uberti 1861 navy had a lot of wear and I just ordered a new one imported by Cimarron. The main differences I can spot at a first glance: The color case on the frame is darker, nicer and more defined than the old gun. - The grip fitting is not as nice as my old gun; the wood is...

    Wanting to buy a 1911

Thank you for all the helpful replies guys. I'm hunting on GB to see what I can find. The reason I'm somewhat interested in the Colt is that I like the history of the company. I know the Springfield Armory is better value and the same if not better quality. The XSE that someone pointed out is...

    Wanting to buy a 1911

Hello everyone, I am interested in getting a 1911 soon for range/fun. I have not had one before and I have settled on the Springfield loaded model in 45. I wanted to check if Colt made something that was asthetically similar, but I could not find something that combined the following elements...

    Ratchet loading lever question

The entire assembly has side to side play. It functions fine, just rattles a bit when you pick up the gun. No huge problem.

    Ratchet loading lever question

Hello everyone, I have breathed a lot of new life into my Uberti 1861 navy with a new arbor, and new timed action parts. The last wear point I'm trying to address is the loading lever. The ratchet style loading lever seems to have side to side play while latched. I can hold the plunger and...

Question about shortening arbor on Colt clone

Update: got the new arbor fitted by a local gunsmith, only $20. I requested a crush fit and it appears super solid. This has completely solved my cylinder to barrel gap issue. I went from 0.013 to 0.005. Hopefully I can shoot it this weekend.

Question about shortening arbor on Colt clone

Please padron my ignorance, what is "upsetting" the shoulder?

Question about shortening arbor on Colt clone

Got the new arbor, but I have to take it to a machinist; the shoulder needs to be milled down as the arborstops screwing in early by about a third of a turn.

Question about shortening arbor on Colt clone

Thanks. Arbor is off. If I screw it taught I feel no play in any direction. With the arbor screwed taught I have a barrel gap of .013 no matter what wedge I use or how deep it goes. Get new arbor on Saturday, hoping maybe it closes that gap. If not, I'm willing to try the screw throguh arbor end...

    Colt 2nd generation questions

Hello guys, I was thinking about getting a 2nd generation 1861 navy while I try to get my Uberti back to shape. I've done enough reading to understand what 2nd gens are, but I had questions from the perspective of people who shoot them regularly. How have they held up for you? can you comment...

Question about shortening arbor on Colt clone

Hey guys, I'm working on drilling out the locking pin on the arbor. I had to stop due to time. Does someone know the length of the pin in Ubertis?

Question about shortening arbor on Colt clone

I will attempt to remove the arbor after work. Meanwhile I got a new arbor from VTI. The lady on the phone said they haven't had arbors for sale in 10 years, but that they just got a batch of 100 if anyone is interested, Uberti arbors that is.

Question about shortening arbor on Colt clone

It is a steel frame Uberit Navy. The play in the arbor isn't too sloppy. I had resigned myself to getting a new frame years ago but no supplier carried them and eventually I was told Uberti didn't want to sell frames anymore. I guess I never thought of the arbor alone. I will check.
