I suggest you also consider the HK 45 and HK 45C.

    700 SS 5r Milspec

My 700 5R seems to prefer the heavier bullets, either 175 or 180 gr Sierra Match Kings ahead of various amounts of Varget. Actually, the best performing ammo so far has been some long discontinued factory Federal 180 gr HPBT Match ammo (308MB), sold by the CMP not long ago. Granted, there...

Pleasant Surprise at the local Store!

A double-action-only version of the 92FS. All the trigger pulls are equivalent to the initial double-action pull on the 92FS, albeit slightly lighter due to the use of a slightly lighter hammer spring (16 lb vs 20 lb). Double-strike capable. Other than that, typical 92FS.

    Swiss K-31

The K31 was the first gun I bought after I got my C&R license 4 years ago. I hardly ever shoot it anymore, but it is unbelievably accurate for it's age and cost. It's been said that if the gun was currently made commercially, it would cost in excess of $2000, due to the level of workmanship.

Beavertails on a Browning Hi Power are gunsmith only proposition. Cost obviously varies.

Is there a "better" concealable 9mm than the PM9?

I find it very enlightening that the overwhelming majority of people (on any forum) criticising the Rohrbaugh have never fired one, let alone owned one. To borrow a phrase I read somewhere (seems like by Rob S), "a qualified opinion is certainly worth more than an unqualified opinion, no...

Is there a "better" concealable 9mm than the PM9?

While I'm sure it varies from person to person, I personally find recoil/controllability from my Rohrbaugh roughly equivalent to my Airweight J-frames (442, 642, 37-2) firing standard pressure loads, certainly less than when firing +P. It is night/day when compared to my Seecamp LWS380. As...

Is there a "better" concealable 9mm than the PM9?

Any particular reason why you're automatically discounting the Rohrbaugh? So far mine has been totally reliable (500 +/- rounds), and surprisingly accurate. Frankly, in light of my prior negative experiences with Kahrs, I consider my Rohrbaugh as money WELL spent.

CMP is selling AP .30-06 M2 BALL in EStore

I placed an order for one can, reconsidered, then placed an order for two more. I may try some out just because I can, but I bought this primarily for a "rainy day" that I sincerely hope never comes, but I'm afraid it might.

    High-end 1911 dealer in Alabama

Oh, if you're just wanting to finger something, Gary's over in Columbus MS usually has a decent selection, especially of Wilsons.

    High-end 1911 dealer in Alabama

FWIW, I've got a Baer Thunder Ranch, as well as a few Colts, and am a little over an hour away from Tuscaloosa. If you would like to shoot it, let me know.

Woods and Water in Tuscaloosa usually has a few Nighthawks, Browns, Wilsons, etc.

    most reliable 230 grain hollowpoint

FWIW, I've had 3 previously utterly reliable guns start having functioning issues with a recently purchased amount of Winchester Ranger RA45T standard pressure. Just my luck, as I bought a case of it, expecting it to perform as my limited T&E amount had. Oh well, it's almost all gone thanks to...

    Glock 19 vs 26

I have both a 19 and 26 (and 27, 22, and 35). IMO my 26 is more accurate than my 19. I normally use my Pearce +0 extension, and it's as comfortable to fire as the 19, while being slightly more concealable (obviously length-wise, but for the grip, think Ed Brown bobtail). It also allows the...

Price check please -- Gunsite CCO

Obviously I was watching it, if it had stayed where it was at an hour ago I was going to have a very hard time resisting tossing in a bid.

Price check please -- Gunsite CCO

FWIW, if I hadn't been planning on having some custom work done to it, I probably wouldn't have bought my CCO, knowing it's "deficiencies". Then again, how many other aluminum frame Series 70 CCO-style Colts are there?
