    Which 1860 Army Repro?

I own a Uberti, a Pietta and a Armi San Marco, which is comparable to the CVA. The Uberti is far and away the best quality with Pietta a close second. The ASM has issues with soft components. Its good enough but nowhere near the quality of the other two.

So I'm taking a vacation to Montreal in a few weeks..

Bulletproof vests are pretty much standard issue for cops in Canada. Especially RCMP. You would think that with all the gun control up here they wouldn't be needed but..............

Oleg's picture in the new DC gun brochure

Welcome to Canada, guys. :D These are exactly the kind of questions Canadian gunowners ask themselves every day. At least you guys have the Second Amendment, even if you can't agree on what it means.

Tsar of Toronto aims to shut down shooting ranges

I knew it! Our criminals are copying evil Americans. Its all your fault. :D

Tsar of Toronto aims to shut down shooting ranges

Its not illegal to use a firearm for self defense in Canada. It happens all the time. Usually a rifle or shotgun. It is illegal to carry a handgun any way other than triggerlocked in a locked opaque case with the proper Authorization to Transport papers. Oddly enough, Canadian criminals do not...

Energy fears looming, new survivalists prepare

Up here in Canada we're paying about 6.00 a gallon for gas (137.9 a litre), more for diesel. Nobody's rioting in the streets yet. Anybody from down there that's planning to drive to Alaska this summer had better fill up at the border. BC stands for "bring cash". :)

Revolver Question - Why not load all six?

I load six and drop the hammer between the cylinders. Why have six holes if you don't use them?

Bad all over the place: Canadian traffic stop and rifle seizure (long)

Well, I guess its up to me to stand up for Canada. Most Canadians now live along the 49th parallel and have been conditioned from birth to fear all you gun toting Americans. Its well known in Canada that you guys will take every opportunity to shoot up the place if given half a chance. We've all...

Pistol Timing and how to adjust

This sounds like exactly the same problem I was having with my Walker. Have you checked the hand? The hand spring prevents it from rotating the cylinder too far and allows the bolt to engage. With the hand spring weak or broken, the cylinder can be rotated past the bolt before it has time to...

Pistol Timing and how to adjust

I just finished a hour and a half filing out the hole in the hammer of my Walker to fit a new Uberti hand. The pin in the Uberti is much bigger than the Armi San Marco part. Hopefully it's harder too. Problem solved. It appears that the broken spring was allowing the hand to turn the cylinder...

Pistol Timing and how to adjust

I was hoping for some insight. My Armi San Marco Walker clone goes out of time when cocked fast. I need to replace the hand anyway. Maybe I'll replace the cyl lock spring while I'm at it.

Some numbers on the Canadian Gun registry......

....or how to spend 2 billion dollars without really trying. Bear in mind that after all this, the gun registry is absolutely useless. Oddly enough, criminals still use firearms to commit crimes. I'm the author of the essay that Mike Campbell based his Vancouver Sun column on. The...

    Bear gun

My carry gun for bear in northern BC is an 870 loaded with 7, 3" magnum slugs, 20" barrel with a rifled choke and express sights. I wouldn't want to tangle with anything bigger than a small Grizzly with that. That's not for bear hunting, just for when you trip over them. As the old joke goes...

    Walker problems

Thanks for all the info. Nothing appeared broken but something might be bent or weakened. I'll take it apart again and have another look at it. Its not like its complicated. It is a 130 year old design after all. :D

    Walker problems

I acquired a used Armi San Marco Colt Walker clone. When the hammer is pulled back, the cylinder rotates past the stop. The stop does not appear to be rising up to engage the slot in the cylinder. If you pull the hammer back slowly the cylinder engages the stop, most times. The cylinder stop...

    Some Canadians need your votes.

Too many Canadians think Americans are evil. Not me, my grandfather was born in Tilden, Nebraska so I'm looked upon with some suspision. :D The western provinces might separate but I doubt that they would join the US. OPEC maybe.

    Some Canadians need your votes.

Canadian gun laws are just as convoluted as American gun laws. Perhaps less so because, they are federal and as such are, "theoretically", the same across Canada. Many provinces choose to enforce these laws to a greater or lesser degree. Ontario and Quebec are the least gun friendly provinces...
