I know the 1955 Target was chambered for the .45 Auto Rim, and could be used with .45 ACP with clips. Is the mod. 25 chambered the same? And is the headspace the same? If it is, you should be able to shoot .45 Auto Rim's in the newer revolvers. Next question is, where to get .45 Auto Rims these...

I guess no one has shot one, me neither. I just don't see a need for it. Heck, I don't even like the .357.

S & W made revolvers for the .45 auto rim cartridge, the mod. 1955 Target is one. You could use .45 ACP rounds in it with half moon clips. I'm not sure why manufacturers quit making that cartridge. I looked for some the other day and they said that it hadn't been made in years...
