    Mossberg vs. Remington

Like many here I also have both in a few different configurations. I would have to agree that it all comes down to personal peference. I don't do much high volume shooting just hunting and a few hand tossed clays so I don't think I'll ever get a chance to say that I'd worn out either one of them.

Somebody on here did a good job on an 870 wooden forearm with truck bedliner. Matched his synthetic stock really well. There were photos of it, but it was quite some time ago.

+1 for the Cabelas Three Forks. I got a 7'6 3wt for small trout this past spring. Excellent rod for the price.

I used a band saw to cut mine. Just remember....you may not need as much removed as you think. Better to do it in small amounts.

    Mossberg 835 length of pull

I cut the stock on my camo 835. It was only 3/8 " but it made a world of difference. The factory pad will also fit back on with a small lip which can be removed.

    New Remington 870 Express

I too, bought a new 26" express in 12ga about a year ago. Used it all last rabbit season and it was flawless. No rust issues either, even with our Newfoundland winters and salt water.
