Choosing a hunting pack for stalking and still hunting

It's a little bigger than what you were looking for at 1900 c.i. but have you checked out a Badlands Diablo (http://www.sagecreekoutfitters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=P1027&Category_Code=BDLDS) (I would have linked you to Badlands web page but it is not as up to date)...

    Black Coyote

Not sure how rare they are but I got pictures of two different black coyotes on my game cams this fall and my cousin got a picture of a black coyote as well. I am guessing his picture, the first picture posted, is of the same coyote in my pictures from earlier in the season given the white mark...

    Interesting game camera photo

I saw this posted on another site and here is what is purported to be the original photo: According to that other site, the picture was taken in Carol County, Mississippi and, as someone else already said, is a Timber Rattlesnake

    Ross bows?

Ross makes an excellent bow and their fit and finish is second to none. Do yourself a favor and go shoot one at a local dealer and I bet you will be impressed. They come from the factory with Winner Choice Strings, teflon cable slide, and Sims Ultra Limb Savers and Leeches. I am a Mathews guy...

WS, You probably want to check PA's seasons. http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/cwp/view.asp?a=460&q=161003 In the months you indicated you were hunting (May, June, July) it looks like coyotes, groundhogs, crows, starlings, and English sparrows are all that is in season. For crows and...

    Gunnery Sergeant Michael Burghard...

...is one tough soldier. Check out this article which Snopes.com confirmed as true: http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/burghardt.asp The guy got blown up by an IED but not wanting his team to see him carried away on a stretcher, he walked off on his own accord while giving the...

    Constitutional Law

Do you care to elaborate on that one? Or do you really believe that the deans of every law school get together in some sort of secret conspiracy to set their law school's curiculum agreeing not to cover the Second Amendment? CAS700850's explanantion is exactly why the Second...

    Law School question

Beerslurpy, This all may sound like a buch of mumbo jumbo now, but I guarantee that after your first semester of law school everything discussed in this thread will become abundantly clear to you. And you are right, being a good lawyer has nothing to do with how you do in law school or...

    Law School question

Father Knows Best, Believe me, I know exactly what you are saying as I was in the top 10 of my class but at a third tier school and I was able to get a job in a Big Law law firm. Unfortunately though, I think those days are gone and I would much rather go to one of the elite schools like you...

    Law School question

One of the biggest misconceptions I had before attending law school was thinking that myself and all of my classmates would have six figure jobs just waiting for us after graduation. That was hardly the case. I know many classmates who would have been better off (financially speaking) had they...

    Crossbow advice

Head on over to http://www.archerytalk.com. You should be able to find all you ever wanted to know about crossbows over there. Just be sure to post any questions in the crossbow forum. Based on what little I have read (I do not own a crossbow) Excalibur and TenPoint are frequently mentioned...

wife wants a 17 HMR..so which is the best buy?

I have a Marlin 917VS that has become one of my favorite rifles but now that Savage has put their Accu Trigger in their rimfires, I would take a look at the laminate stock Savage model (sorry, don't know the model off hand).

    .17 Cal Roundup

I have a Marlin 917VS (grey laminate stock/stainless barrel) and if ammo were cheaper it might just be my favorite rifle. Even with the lousy factory trigger it is still a shooter and sub 1" groups at 100 yards is a realistic expectation. That being said, had Savage been using the AccuTrigger...

    Lets talk about foggy scopes

I was checking my Midway catalog and it says that the Fullfield II is waterproof, shockproof, and fogproof. You definitely need to contact Burris about a replacement.

Hunter rescued after upside down ordeal

Birddog, For fixed stands, we use a long piece of climbing rope tied off above the stand and then run it all the way down to the bottom. We then use ascenders to connect to the climbing rope; that way, we are connected from the time we set foot off the ground.

    Lets talk about foggy scopes

Interestingly, Burris does not say anything on their web page as to whether the Fullfield II's are fog proof but if you look at Leupold's web page, it clearly states that their scopes are water proof and fog proof. Sounds like you need to call Burris.
