Very nice looking gun Wes. Congrats. I know you've been wanting one for a while, especially after shooting my H&R. Maybe we can take them out soon... I haven't shot my Springfield yet.
This is a new shotgun. Sorry for not being clear about that. I read somewhere that many people thought all new shotguns had it, but I am just trying to confirm. The Remington site lacks any info about it.
As the title says, do all 870s have Flexitab? Looking at an 870 Express w/ 18" barrel. Trying to find a shotgun for my buddy to carry in his patrol car, and they require Flexitab. Thanks in advance.
I voted for the K31. I don't have one, I haven't shot one, but I really, really want to. Not only is the straight pull just awesome, but they are beautiful rifles. Soon, hopefully...
I never thought I would, but I am actually starting to get a little interested in single-shot rifles. It all started the other day when I read a thread about the Ruger #1.
I just got a Stevens 200 in 7mm-08, and it's my understanding that the Savage and the Stevens are virtually identical. I've seen aftermarket triggers recommended many times - I too will be interested to hear about changing the stock, though.
I was going to take my SKS out whitetail hunting this year, but pops decided that since he had never formally bought me a rifle when I was a young 'un, he wanted to get me a rifle in a caliber he'd heard nothing but good things about: 7mm-08. So after doing a bit of searching, I suggested the...
The Tapco mags can only be inserted with the bolt open. So if you remove a mag and then close the bolt, you'll have to hold the bolt back while you insert the mag to get it in. It's not a big deal. Just leave the bolt open - it locks open on an empty mag anyway. :scrutiny:
I'm not saying the...
Numrich's has Police Positive Special barrels, but the shortest they have in stock is 4". Cost is listed at $41.
However, they also have a variety of Detective Special barrels in stock. Many are for the newer issue DS with the shrouded barrel. Not sure if those will fit the old frame. They...
I was planning on hunting a little with my SKS using Wolf 153gr soft points, but changed my mind at the last minute and picked up a Stevens in 7mm-08. Still, if I were hunting whitetail, I would take the Wolf or Corbon 150-ish grain soft points. Ballistically they're a lot closer to 30-30 than...
+1 to grimjaw's suggestion on the unconverted Saiga, ALTHOUGH you'd be hard pressed to find it in the same price range - if you can get one locally for $350, that's probably $50 more than you're looking at for a transfer on a Yugo SKS. But to me - it's $50 well spent.
As for detachable...
Spike's Tactical produces (what I think is) the most popular dedicated .22 LR upper. I would go that route.
Personally I would not spend money on the tacti-cool crazy piston upper. That's just WAY too much cash - heck, I think it'd be cheaper to get the other barreled upper and convert it to...
