Don't we already have rifles that can fire over a mile and a half?
That is right we do! 2,430 meters 2,657 yd, or 1.51 miles. 50 cal! Rob Furlong total alpha!
Treo,
Glad to have you on board with OC.
The crowd here hates the idea, but you are right. We need to be ever vigilant and gain ground so that our RTKBA is always here.
Good Job!

OCs when ever he needs to, and darn proud of it.
Sometimes when I come here I have to think that this place is filled with anti(s) or kids. People do dangerous or rude things that make the OP mad causes others to say he is the problem?
No, the people who are doing dangerous or inconsiderate things are the problem.
Ruger P95
Or a good down payment on a:
Beretta: 92 or PX4
Glock: 17 or 19
Me? I would go with the good down payment option. Getting a great gun for 300 off is a great deal!
I live in NC and everything you did was perfectly legal. Good job getting out alive, unhurt, and with your property intact.
Oh, to the people who think what he did was illegal. In NC you can use lethal force to prevent a break in. Just FYI....
In law enforcement it gets tricky. Most of the time the battles wind up falling into categories:
1) Stop: LEO pulls over someone who starts shooting. What happens most of the time is the LEO fires a whole clip while running for cover. He gets to cover reloads, calls for backup, checks on...
I think that this one is. Half the time I can't decide if this place is filled with anti's or if people are trolling.
Anti open cary.
Never print with a firearm.
Concealed means concealed.
These are all things I read here often, and I think they are bad...
OC all the time.
I might get warned for this comment, but it needs to be said.
It seems like the Anti OC people are children who are trolling. They make these wild claims about the weapon being stolen or snatched, and then claim that you will be arrested by the police for OC.
I spent a...
NC has open carry.
I can and do open carry. I don't really even think about it that often. Never had a problem with a LEO about it.
Beretta most of the time, sometimes a Ruger.
+1 on the Ruger P95. They are great pistols, low price, and will last forever. They are accurate out of the box, have a manual safety, and go bang every time. You can get one for about $285
Beretta: The 92FS or the PX4. Both can be had for below $500 and both will last forever, are accurate...
Sometime yes, other times no.
Yes, if I am going to carry in a bad part of town, in a bad situation, or in a situation where I think I will need to shoot.
No, if I don't think I need to.
Great post! Having a beater gun is important. Why? Because that is the gun that is with you most of the time and will save your life when it comes down to it.
OP: Good job!
Having a gun and pointing out to a BG that you have it, saves people every day. Good for you!
Call the cops? And tell them what? A guy was about to mug me, so I showed him my pistol and he ran off? The cop would most likly just laugh at you for calling.
"Yellofin-
I am equally skeptical of the assertion that open carriers are deliberately targeted by criminals presumptively, which is an argument against OC that gets trumpeted loud and often."
This is what lead me on this search. I heard that statement from a few anti(s) about open cary...
