I went with an AR in 6.8 spc. Works great for deer out to 300-400 yards and doubles as a good self defense weapon for when they go out on there own. If an AR isn't your thing then I would suggest a Savage or Remington in .243
1. Fastest lightest shotgun I have ever shot or owned is my Remington 1100 light special field. Is great for quail or pheasant. I use it more for quail though. Is a 20 ga.
2. My favorite shotgun. Benelli M2. If you feel the need to shoot 3 1/2 step up to the SBEII
3. You want a .44 mag...
My wife just got a Beretta Neos. She likes it alot. We went shooting last weekend. It did great. I think it had 2-3 FTF's with Remington ammo. None with Winchester or Federal. All of it is the cheap bulk stuff. Didnt think that was bad with 2 FTF's with cheap ammo out of its first 300 rounds...
My response would have been,
No reason at all to have a bolt action rifle to hunt with. Why do you need a weapon that is that accurate and fast to fire.
Everything but a single shot should be outlawed. Scopes should be outlawed. Scopes are for snipers not hunters. Scopes give an unfair...
A Do it all rifle. Im not sure there is such a thing but here is my take.
For me Do it all would mean I could take game with it and also use it for self defense.
The largest game I take in my neck of the woods is a white tail. Smallest game would be squirrel and rabbit.
I would go with a...
A little advise.
My Dad bought me my first gun of my very own when I was about 14 years old. I traded it off for something else when I was about 20. Never thought twice about it. Now that Im older. I would pay just about any price to get that gun back. Keep it even if you never shoot it. As...
Wife just bought/ordered one. Her first gun. It should be in Tuesday. Not what I would have picked but she liked the way it felt in her hand. The grip is really small. It is the 6" model.
S&W 22a was her 2nd choice.. She didnt like the trigger on the Walther .22 they had. She didnt want to...
I dont feel a need to equip all my guns with $500 + Red dots anymore. Well I would if I could afford it but I tend to only buy them for ones that will see heavy heavy use. I have had good luck with The Vortex Strikefire that has a 2x multiplier and the Bushnell Trophy MP.
IMO those 2 red dots...
Got a 229 a holtster and an extra .357 Sig barrel from a guy at work that sold it all for $400. He put like 100 rounds through it.

wow, what does an Ed Brown have that Taurus doesnt?
Not trying to pick a fight, that statement just shocked me.
Thats not even a comparison.
As for best bang for the buck. I would pick one of the lower end Kimbers like the Custom model.
