I was a bit disappointed by the execution as well, items in cart, but out of stock by checkout time. It wont affect my buying from the site, they've done right by me so far. You win some, you lose some.
I've ordered from them plenty often. In fact, I did so this past week. Communications is typically good, shipping is typical, no complaints. It's always been hassle free for me. I trust them, and will continue to order from them.
Based on the feedback above, I think the odds are in favor that I was not completely depressing the grip safety. I'm planning another trip to the range early in the week, I'll put another 50 to 100 rounds through it and pay close attention to my grip, and see if I get any different results. I...
It's new to me... It will earn my trust with time and rounds downrange. But to either carry nothing, or something that's in the process of earning my trust - I'll take the gamble on the new gun. But I don't disagree with your point.
So I'll preface this by saying that I'm a total noob to the 1911 platform. I have a Smith and Wesson SW1911SC model, I've only put 12 rounds through it (all flaweless) until today. I went to the range after work planning to run a couple boxes of Winchester White Box - to make a long story...
Nobody has a crystal ball of what will happen... But I'd say do it soon.. It's more fun to shoot than let sitting in parts :) For that reason and that reason alone :)
Not bare in Columbus
I went to Gander Mountain today in Hilliard Ohio, there was shotgun ammo everywhere, plenty of rifle ammo with the exception of .223, and just about any handgun caliber you could want. Brought home 4 boxes of 45 Zombie Max and called it a day. Good prices, clean store...
1911 for me
I've rotated through various carry pieces over the years... but right now, the 1911 is my go-to piece. Weather doesn't matter, carry what you like.
I started off with a .380 PPK, got tired of it digging into my side, went to a Glock 19 during the cold months (feels GREAT iwb) and an LCP in the pocket during the warmer months.
Glad I'm not the only one who's had this experience. A few weeks ago I slipped on some nasty ice, coming right down on my holstered firearm. Left a nice bruise, but the little plastic LCP survived :) Luckily I wasn't in midst of a 'situation' with weapon in hand. Brings up a good point about...
Ok so looking past all the current prices, ammo shortages, etc - how about this question for a little change of tone?
What can we expect to see as the next major "new" C&R gun? Something that's going to be less than $100
Curious to see what people think is coming down the pike.
Let me rephrase.
Since parts kits with barrels can no longer be imported (2005?) for rifles that couldn't be imported assembled, it seems like nobody wants what "can" be imported - maybe they still are, but nothing I'm seeing - it's all " buy this before they dry up"
Inaccurate wording on...
What would it take?
So I guess a question at the root of this issue is - what caused the problem with availability in the first place? Now I get that the BATFE decided that parts kits could no longer be imported, blah blah - ok so - what does "decided" mean? Can somebody just decide this one...
Funny you should say that
I've got an M44 now, might pick up another (or a 91/30) tomorrow at the gun show. We shall see.
I also have a couple Nagant Revolvers on the way - They seem like a can't miss deal. Now those are a deal!
For a moment I thought the VZ58 parts kits might be an...
Ok first off, lets please stay clear from politics here - that has nothing to do with this post, nor the buying frenzy of semi-auto's. I'm asking the question from a collectors / shooters perspective.
Ok so the days of the $99 AK parts kits are over. I missed it.
The $100 SKS's are gone...
Don't be anxious. Just be you. I remember the first time I walked into some place carrying after getting my ccw (it was a wal-mart) it made me feel just plain good. I really felt "freedom".
What about a basement?
So I'm going to just the tiniest steer this in a different direction - but only for a second.
I have a similar situation, but in my case I want to put the safes in the basement. I have a concrete room (soon to have a vault door) which will be used to store stuff...
I cleared out a local wal-mart of 9mm (Blazer Brass) but that was mostly because I wanted to make sure I had a stash in case everybody ELSE went panic buying and I couldn't find any. But I have to admit, over the last few months, I've added a couple of pieces to the collection (Yugo M70 for...
