Angry, but refusing to get 'their' license

The cost of the licence is to offset the cost to the state to do an investigation for the permit. Right? Then why does Oklahoma charge 100$ for a 5 year permit and 200$ for a 10 year permit. I'm not bitchin about the cost (cheap compaired to some) just a question...

    Vets shoot Free!

I would make the trip and would love it. What "one" is doing is both unselfish and damned nice. Everyone knows what we will see at heavens gates. I dare say that "one" will be there. USAF security cop 72-78 and proud of it.

Any amusing stories about friends discovering guns in your house?

My nephew found my carbine and went crying to his mother. He ask his mother if the gun would kill him. My sister is what she calls progressive. She ask me to get rid of the "thing" or they would leave. It's sad but they haven't been in my home since 1983.

has anyone ever actually had to shoot/shoot at a person?

Gota go. Heres another of Coopers quotes; When ask about the 06 being the best rifle round he said "the 30-06 is a little heavy for rabbits and a little lite for elephants, but it will do a fair job on both" Goodnite...Waldo

has anyone ever actually had to shoot/shoot at a person?

treo; Col. Cooper was no idiot and what I said was no contradiction. Read the posts. I don't subscribe to the "more is better" way of thinking. In the real world no CC person needs more than one round to stop a fight(the other six are insurance). I'm retired AF we call in the 52s when...

Coloradokevin; I believe you, but as of 2005 the roster of police shootings at Gunsite dosn't show it.

has anyone ever actually had to shoot/shoot at a person?

I have no doubt the .45 has failed to stop a fight. In actual police shootings it hasn't. No magical properties. It's a function of mass. I'm not picking a fight, so to speak, but if you have a choice, are you telling me you would carry anything less than the best you have? Think about...

has anyone ever actually had to shoot/shoot at a person?

"Handgun stopping power" refers to the "energy" inparted and has been proved to be unrealiable. A 115gr 9mm +p+ has 505fp of energy, the .45 230gr 425fp of energy. In police shootings to date the .45 has a 100% fight stopping record, the 9 dosn't. Go figure

    guns in church

30 years ago a State Trooper at our church would take off his weapon and put it on the hat rack. Now 50% of the men carry in church. If we could only go back!

has anyone ever actually had to shoot/shoot at a person?

Col. Jeff Cooper wrote a good deal about this from first hand experance. He states that the .45 ACP 230gr. ball or HP is the best fight stopper. No one has ever fought back after a torso hit with a .45 (Coopers words)however there a number of examples of people hit with a 9mm up to 21 times...

    CSI: Miami Gun errors

If they got it right it wouldn't match what they believe. If someone handed them a "real" Glock they would faint. And no the 9mm BP load will not cycle a simi-auto. It will however, "exit" the bbl of a revolver....Maybe!
