Shooting the Steyr M95 - 8x56r ammo issues

I've shot a fair amount of that 1938 Nazi stuff since I bought my rifle in 1988. I've never had one round fail to ignite, or give any indication that anything was amiss. I too would suggest cleaning out the bolt/firing pin channel. Good luck. They're fun shooters. Tim

    Best handgun under $100

If you're talking about loaning it to a friend, your trigger reach isn't really an issue. If you're talking about you using a PA-63, you could either leave the chamber empty and cycle the action just prior to using it, thereby cocking the hammer and reducing the trigger reach considerably, or...

    Romanian AK drums on sale

I know what you mean. I remember when a buddy of mine got his first AK, and we went to the gunshow looking for accessories. We found the Chinese drums for $27.50, I believe. He bought one, and I passed because I already had 2! Sheesh.

Well I can only speak for my own experience. I bought 2, one excellent grade, one very good. I see no need to change any springs, nor to refinish. I'm perfectly content with them as they sit. If it had happened that I'd gotten one that had a very worn finish, I'd probably just consider it a...

A question about putting guns in a safe

If it were just 1 or 2 guns that were too short, and you didn't want to bother with blocks and such, I'd suggest just extending a small dowel rod out of the muzzle far enough to allow the weapon to rest on.

    Carry of Rifle on Motorcycle

I use a hard-sided plastic case bungeed onto my cargo rack. For those times when I've had my topcase installed, I've just left the hard case sitting on the seat behind me and bungeed it to the cargo rack behind the seat. I've never had the slightest problem. Sure, I got some stares from some of...

Well, I have to admit that I was not aware of that magazine. A 25 rounder that is more-or-less flush fitting? That is impressive. I wonder if they use that same sort of "ribbon" spring that I've seen used years ago to increase mag capacity. The ribbon almost always became detached from the...

Wow, you're right. The fact that one or two people have had an issue with one type of HP from one manufacturer is certainly proof positive that all P6s are unreliable and unable to feed any type of HP ammo. Good argument. You've convinced me. I'm going to run right out and sell my P6s.

Well, if you're not going to use the actual original mag for comparison, then talking about the dimensions of the gun is pointless. In my foolishness, I presumed that we were going to be speaking of the OEM mags only, not refer to whatever lenth monstrosity of a mag could be slammed into it...

This is not quite true. Yes, the dimensions of the P228 are very close to the P225/P6, however the P228 holds 13+1 rounds while the P225/P6 holds 8+1 rounds. Not even twice the round count, closer to a 50% increase. Still, in terms of rounds on tap versus overall dimensions, the P228 definitely...

    Legalzing guns and drugs

"What about the work area? Do you want a surgeon legally operating on you thats on shrooms? Its not the drug addicts you should be worried about, its all the people that will start doing drugs if they are legalized. "Oh, my druggy friend told me to try it and now im addicted to crack, I quit...

Do any of you own a US Firearms gun?

Yes, I own a USFA, actually I believe they were called U.S. Patent Firearms when I bought mine. I don't recall a specific model name, but I know it's not the Rodeo or the Cowboy...I'm pretty sure they weren't making those when I purchased mine. Mine's just a relatively ordinary 7.5 in. with the...

    Just a Fun Poll:

I completely agree that I've never felt the need to name any of my guns. However...one of them came to me pre-named. I have a 5 in. Ruger Redhawk in .44 Magnum, named Lucille. The name is engraved on the side of the front half of the barrel. It was very nicely done, and not particularly large or...

Hello to all! I'm new to this forum as of today. I'm originally from Ohio, but have been living in AZ since 1994. I spent 15 years in the USAF. Since then I've worked at a gunshop here in Phoenix (Scottsdale, actually) and worked 4 years at Motorola. I've been employed at Intel since 2000...
