    Long Range Question...Pretty Basic

to put it simply, on your scope (usually) one click is 1/4'' at 100 yards. At 200 yards one click is 1/2''. At 300 yards 1 click is 3/4''.... At 1000 yards one click is 10'', so if you have 52 clicks, at 1000 yards thats 520 inches.

Can you guess from these PIC's why my range session was cut short?

Its pretty frustrating when you go skeet shooting and find out that you bought 100 rounds of 12 gauge instead of 20, but luckly it worked out because my friends all has 12's... I know that situation sucks though.

If you could only choose between these 2....?

i'd probably go witht he kel-tech myself, it looks funny and folds up. Its supposed to be a decent little gun too.

Any recommendations for skeet O?U under $2000 ?

I have a friend that bought a CZ O/U for about $900. Its a great gun, well made, and light. The only thing is it doesn't have anything to absorb the recoil other than the butt pad and it only weighs probably 6 pounds or so, so it kicks a bit. Its a fantastic gun though and if i were to get an...

Cleaning rag stuck in barrel! Need help!!!

You could do what i did when i rammed a ball all the way down and realized i didn't put and powder in lol. I just slowly and carfully put powder through the nipple area (i removed the nipple) and was able to fix several grains of powder in, which was just enough to plop the ball out about 10...

BRAND NEW 870 vs BRAND NEW Mossy 500

They both are going to go click click bang out of the box, garenteed. for a very long time the Remington was the best on the market for the price, but there have been many complaints lately about extraction issues, which i have experianced first hand with a friend's 870. The mossberg is kinda...

send back or just get over it

Did it come with rails? I personally would just lok tite it and live with it. There isn't anything wrong with the gun, its just the rail.

    Mosin Surprise Chapter 2, M39

trying to build the smoothest Mossberg 500 possible

just shoot the snot out of it. mine was a little rough at first, but after about 1000 rounds its super smooth. Its alot smoother than the 2 or 3 remingtons i have shot. and i mean a lot smoother.

    Shotgun funshoot

Does it have to be indoors? shotguns here are (other than home defence) are used mostly for shooting things out of the air. Weather is be hunting or shooting clays. you use small shot to shoot clays. you should set up a skeet/trap field.

Accurizing the Mosin: Trigger Jobs and Bolt Flinch

I think a mosin trigger is about 9 pounds. Im actually very good with mine and can shoot a 2.5'' group at 100 yards with it. Don't diss the mosin just cause its made with a man's trigger. You just have to learn how to shoot it thats all... and once you can shoot well with a mosin you can shoot...

Accurizing the Mosin: Trigger Jobs and Bolt Flinch

In all honesty it sounds like your flinching. You just need to stop flinching. it can be hard to do, but once you stop your groups will shrink alot. Even if you get the lock time a lot lower and shorten and lighten the trigger pull, your still going to have a larger group than you should...

    Winchester M1895 Russian Contract

There isn't a whole lot of them out there. Most people who have them will shoot them occasionally for kicks, but they are more collectors items than shooters due to the age and rarity of them.

    K31 and GP11

Its non-corrosive match grade ammo. Its probably the best military surplus ammo available. Its got bee wax around the bullet and case to help water proof it and to reduce fouling. There are people who handload who cannot make more accurate ammo than the GP11. Its .308 diameter, so any .308...

    Sling on HD Shotgun?

In all honesty, in a HD siuation, you probably won't even fire your weapon, and if you do you're probably only going to fire one or two rounds. I understand the advantages of having a sling, but if its 3 AM and you're out cold and you wake up, its going to take you a few seconds to figure out...

    Sighting a Swiss K31

This isnt about the rifle being inaccurate, its just shooting to the left. if you were to shoot at the same spot, you would have a tight group, it would just not be where you were aiming. The accuracy potential of a k31 in good shape is better than most shooters can shoot. Generally they...

    Getting Started In Trap/Skeet/Five Stand

Honestly, just go to your range and shoot. I shoot trap and skeet with a mossberg 500 feild gun in 20 gauge and do just as well, and even better than a lot of the guys with nice $2k+ O/U shtguns. Its the shooter, not the gun. Just go and introduce yourself and let them know that you are just...

    cleaning brand new shotgun???

Its a good idea, but you don't have to, especially with such a rugged shotgun. Its a good idea to get the factory grease off and use real gun oil and that sort of thing. Its not going to hurt it if you don't clean it, but it will probably work better. Plus, if you clean it before, you will know...
