Is Anyone Finding Ammo Difficult to Find?

Seem like there is more ammo around here now, but, the price has went ski high. Same with the guns.

    Taurus

I have had great service out of several Taurus pistols. After I shoot and prove them to be reliable, why not carry them?? I have never had a real problem with a Taurus being reliable. I have and do carry a Taurus. I would not carry a gun that I had any doubt about. So, if a pistol is...

    Trade p226 for a 1911

Maybe buy a little less expensive 1911, and keep the 226 and have them both. You can surely find a very nice 1911 for less money than the 1250 you are thinking about spending. Just a thought.

    first timer questions

How a gun fits in the hand and naturally points is very important. Yea, you can get used to a poor fitting or designed gun. Or just buy one that is comfortable to shoot to begin with and not have to "get used to it". Now, The Beretta or the Sig are both very fine firearms. You will be well...

Smoothest out of the box 45 action I've ever seen

Oh yea, just cut California off from gun sales,,,, The anti gun crowd and the politicians would be very happy. I do understand what you all mean, cut em off, but I really think this would play right into the anti-gun crowd hand. The anti gun folks would love this idea. If they give...

    Horror day at the range

I am not familiar with the powder used for these loads. But just a thought? Years back I heard, and seen the results of a "flash" explosion, due to a reduced load. Would this have been possible with this powder and load? reducing from 4.3 to 4.0, could this have been enough to let the...

1 reason NOT to buy taurus

my pt1911 shot right on out of the box. I know of three others at our range, no problems with them. Sights need some adjusting, so you will never buy again, man how picky. sound like a lame reason to bad mouth Taurus. What you want for that piece of crap with bad sights, I might help you out...

    Ohio gunsmiths

I would check with Old English to see if they can, or might know where to send you. Or .. heck, I think it is Vandalia gun shop?? Next would be looking for a machine shop that might thread it for you. Last, I would check with Gander Mountain in Huber Heights?? I will check with a couple guys...

Is volume is more accurate than weight, a personal observation

How hard you throw the handle on you powder measure will change the weight of the charge being thrown. If you are running a vibratory case cleaner on the bench, it will change the weight of the charge being metered from your powder drop. You want everything to be as constant as possible, that...

    Good revolver for a newbie?

+1 on the rugers, great revolvers for the money. GP100 is a great gun. Again I would suggest staying away from the ultralights. For sure, go ahead and buy a 357, that will give you more ammo to choose from. Taurus revolvers might also be something for you to consider. Again, a great value...

My self defence ammo test 9 mm and 380

Shooting buckets and bottles may not give great data about bullet performance. But it sure can be fun!!! Watch them blow up, big splash, good hit, big splash, different loads, different results. It's FUN! Coffee can full of water, lid on it, see how far the lid will fly. You can see...

    My First .22 Handgun

The smith 41 is great,,, but very pricey! If you want a great .22 at a reasonable price, reliable, accurate, easy to clean and maintain. The Browning Buckmark is a great choice in my opinion. You don't need to break the bank to have a good shooter. Have fun, be safe, go shooting.

    all in one cleaner+oil?

Breakfree CLP, is ok at best. I do take a small bottle in my range box. for the, just in case, I'll have something. But it never sees my cleaning bench when I am at home to do the serious cleaning and lubrication. It beats nothing , but not the "do all" some think it is? just my humble...

    Taurus Owners

LOL the guy who bought 7 before he decided he did not like them?? Come on, some one convinced him he did not like them or he would have never owned 7. He has never told what his problems were, he and several other "never buy a taurus" guys??? why?? I have owned quite a few and never had a...

    Walther PPK/S...reliable?

My ppks was very reliable, when I finally got it back from S&W service. It just would not work out of the box. After they took their sweet time, to fix it , it was great. shot fine, very accurate, no problems feeding any ammo. I put a piece of pac-skin on the front and rear of the grip area to...

    Which trigger style for CCW?

Well said PX15 ! +1 on TDA for most CCW purposes. I mostly carry a 1911, but I, Practice, practice, practice, at the range and also, you can do dry fire drills at home. buy some snap caps, and have a good time practicing at home, and safely with out live ammo. then to the range again.

    between .22's

With all the bad things written about the 2 guns you mention, Why not buy a reliable gun to start with. It will be more fun in the long run. try a Buckmark, great shooters, reliable, and just fun to shoot. be kinda hard to carry in an ankle holster, but?? its a .22 It will give you the...
