    Browning HP experts...pics and questions

As has been mentioned, a previous owner removed the magazine release safety. This is an easy way to improve the trigger pull on a HP. As for the loose slide to frame fit, don't let that bother you. My HP rattles when I shake it, as do many, and it is still very accurate. I don't personally...

    Surprised by Glock 30 accuracy

I own and love 1911's, including Colt & Kimber's. When I want to carry a .45, I grab my Glock 30, every time. They are very acurate firearms. And I find 10 +1 rounds of .45 ACP to be very reassuring.

Hillary Locks - A reality check

For many, the only reason they haven't bought a new S&W in years is precisely because of the lock. That doesn't mean that there aren't thousands, like myself, that buy dozens of pre-lock S&W's, every year. I can promise you that if S&W were to do away with the lock, their sales would go up...

Which .38 special SWHP is best?

Ridgeway, what powder do you use, if you don't mind me asking? I just picked up some Speer LSWCHP's from Midway and hope to develope a 38 Special load that will expand out of 2" J-frame. I loaded some up with 4.0gr of HP-38, but have not tested them yet. From what I've read, that probably...

    Revolver trade advice...

Several of mine lock up with zero rotational play, others have varying degrees of play. While some play may be "absolutely normal and fine", that does not make it a desireable trait. There is nothing wrong with guns that lock up "like a bank vault"; those examples are superior specimens.

    Revolver trade advice...

I agree with SaberOne. While the blued revolver might not lock up as tight as your nickel one, as long as it is not overly sloppy, I wouldn't discard it for that reason. Guillermo, not sure where you got that information, but I suspect it was from someone trying to sell you a sloppy gun.

Bloodwork revolver .vs the new 627 8Xs

Mr. Cocked & Locked, I can tell that the worn laser etching bothers you greatly. I'm a nice guy and hate to see a fellow S&W enthusiast unhappy. Tell you what, send me that old worn out UDR and I'll send you a check to cover the cost of a brand new UDR? What do you say? ;)

Bloodwork revolver .vs the new 627 8Xs

Original New Version Besides the obvious addition of the internal lock, the front site profile is noticably different. It also appears that the grips are of a lighter color, on the new version, at least on all of the new ones I've seen pictures of. I had a chance to purchase an...

    Light 38's

I believe the Ruger LCR weighs 13.5 ounces. While technically a .357 Magnum, S&W makes the model 340PD, which weighs 12 ounces.

    357 Magnum vs 45 ACP

When I am deer hunting, I don't wear hearing protection. When I shoot my 30-06 during target practice, I always wear hearing protection. Of all the deer I have shot, I can not remember one occassion where my ears were ringing or otherwise hurting, afterwards. I suspect that it would be the...

Thanks for that explanation, DickM, I had never heard of a "mil" before. I learned something new today. :)

Iffy BC Gap: Should it stay or should it go?

As Roper1952 stated, I think that you mean .006" feeler gage (6 thousandths of an inch), as 6 millimeters would be almost a 1/4 inch.

Pics of My New S&W 19-4

I would shoot it. If you clean it properly after every range session, it will lose little if any value. While it is very nice, it probably would not be the first choice for a collector, as it doesn't appear to have the original (wood) stocks. My 2 1/2" M19-4 is one of my favorite shooters -...
