Need gun, hunting, Africa movie ideas for gifts for my PH in Africa

'The Ghost and the Darkness' might appeal (its about a soldier and a PH trying to kill some maneating lions).

Yet Another ABC News Attack On Gun Owners -it's for the children

Of course they did, .38 Super's an uncommon round and they were probably curious. If it was a 9mm they would have ignored it; trust ABC to skew statistics with odd calibres.

    what would it take?

Surely you're not suggesting that we stage and foil an attempt on the President's life simply to sway public opinion? :D

Drawing attention for the sake of confrontation

Scaring antis with OC: one of life's guilty pleasures. :D

    Recreation and Carry

I usually have a gun when I'm out hunting or shooting.

    What's your "never buy" gun?

No Glocks. I refure to spend money on something when the designers haven't even made an attempt at aesthetics. The plastic aspect doesn't endear me to them either. Or the lack of a safety. Or their popularity with gangsters and mall ninjas. Or their dull meaningless names. Or their egotistical...

Hilarious "news" story from the Onion.

I was starting to get a little offended by this, but I laugh whenever they unfairly take the piss out of any other group, so I can't rightly complain when the tables are turned.

    38's?

There are better calibers, but there are much worse too. I completely agree on the 'unload the whole damn gun in his chest' policy, the best way to make sure a caliber does its job.

I'd rather be lucky than good.

If you are lucky, every round you fire will be a fatal hit, and every round they fire will be a wide miss. A lucky person doesn't need to be good. Sadly, luck doesn't tend to be consistently prevailent.

Need examples of gun myths for gun safety presentation!

Here's a good clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMaQfTs72XA&feature=related It illustrates a couple of points and should raise a laugh too.

    So the 12ga was a back-up gun?!?

    Exotic concealed carry

...and thus ends the .45/9mm debate :D Besides drooling and trying to lick your elbow while the evidence is being given, a lupara is probably the quickest way to alienate a self defence jury

    Exotic concealed carry

For some reason I've always wanted to carry my 'fun' (non-ccw) handguns, things like Lugers, SAAs, et cetera on a short term experimental level, despite the risk of having a less than perfect lifeline. Anyways, what's the most unusual/impractical ccw you've ever carried?

    Gun modifications, whose addicted?

It's great owning a gun that is just the way you want it, and is suited to you and no-one else. I think 1911s are my favourite tinkering platform; so much to do...

If you were to go back in time to the Old West

To be honest, I think I'd be plenty happy with a Colt SAA and '76 Winchester...

    Why are you at THR

I came to THR first, and have yet to find a reason to leave. I only ever visit other sites when I'm in the mood to put my feet up, pour a gin and tonic and enjoy a nice bitter and protacted flame war...

    Gun O'clock!

Best of all, it doesn't break the "don't point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy" rule.
