The best survival firearm - a .22LR rifle?

Best survival gun? I suppose your choice would depends of what you are trying to survive. For feeding your family and chasing off wild animals a 22 rifle is a handy tool but limited in use, as are most calibers. If you look to the farmers and mountain-men you will usually find a 12ga. That's...

    I'm looking for a cheap .22

Carry while hiking If you're going to spend the money for a 22, you might as well get a 38 (or 357). Not much more for a quality gun even if used. Plus the 38 will lend itself to other scenarios.

    Speed strips or Speed loader

Speed-loaders and Speed-Strips I go with both. My first duty gun was a revolver and I learned the value speed-loaders. As has been said before, speed-strips are easier to carry and hide. Therefore I always carry a speed-strip in my front pocket and whenever possible I carry a speed-loader...

Need Advice on .357 mag revolver

Revolver question- I agree that you should look at the Ruger GP100 with a 4inch barrel. That way you can fire 38 or 357. Start with the 38's for home defense. You can always change your mind and go with the 357 later.

    30 Day Revolver Carry Experiment

Carry Experiment Interesting idea for a threat- When it comes to the idea of "how to carry" you have to answer some simple questions. 1- Where will I carry? and 2- How do I hide it from sight? Can you carry comfortably everyday? Yes, I have and do. Summer creates it's own problems- but...

Carrying Two Ha-Ha! Sorry- guys, I was just picturing someone would be carrying two snubbies gunfighter style/western holster. "look out guys, Snubbie Bart is in town!" But I agree- carrying two makes sense although not always practical. I do know (from my training) that a speed loader in...

The Ruger SP 101 .357 Mag

I carry a Sig Sauer 40 S&W on duty-- but off duty I carry a Ruger SP101. You'd be surprised at how many Law Enforcement Officers have them. Has anyone done a ballistics test yet? I'd like to see what the various .357 rounds do out of a 2 1/4 inch barrel?
