I've heard some negative comments about Stoeger quality, some positive too, but wow DHart, that is one very nice looking shotgun, with beautiful photography too. What a nice set up for travel. I've been looking for a coach gun and that Stoeger deserves a second look.

I think its a pretty interesting gun. I give Ruger credit for being creative in offering some variations of their popular revolvers giving us the new Single 10, the 22LR SP101, and now the SP101 4" 357. They can't/won't please everyone but I bet they sell a fair amount of the new offerings...

My Single Six with 4 5/8 bbl. does very well with Winchester Magnum 40 grain JHP or FMJ. The Win's perform just a bit better than the CCI 40 grains. Both brands are good choices.

I'm 64. Pocket carry S&W 431PD 32 Magnum 6 shot snub, and for woods walking I holster carry a SP101 3" with 38+P Speer Gold Dots.

Oh yes you will open a can of worms, but to your point, you are wise in trying to find something she can shoot with confidence and comfort. My steel S&W 36 snubbie with standard pressure Hornady 38 special CD ammo is very easy to shoot, fairly low recoil and accurate. It will get the job done...

I now use Hornady Critical Defense 110's in my S&W 36 snubbie. I like them a lot. The standard pressure versions give low recoil, are accurate, and overall are good performers.
