I've found that most upgrades you make to the gun usually do no translate to any real increased value, except to you. You may be better off selling off the extra accessories you put on the shotgun separately to get more money. That would take a lot more effort, but it might be worth it.

Thanks for all the info! So only way is to transfer through an FFL, which would kill the deal since it would be for a 10/22 which is pretty cheap and readily available. I'll just wait for one in OH or locally find one, they seem to be everywhere anyways.

I would probably get a shorter barrel eventually, either a 20" or 18". The 30" I have has the ribbing on it, so I don't think I would be able to cut it anyways. I'll check the common classifieds and auction sites to find a good deal.
