I'm seeing alot of outcry from citizens and recently alot of sheriffs are saying that they will refuse to enforce an AWB.
It has been a long time but I don't recall this kind of outcry during the previous AWB. I mean plenty of rifles were banned and magazines were capped just as...
I've heard of people using a steel drum filled with sand and tilted at an angle. Not sure how deep they penetrate or how hard it is to dig them out of the dirt though.
yesterday I found a big hunk of round steel that looks perfect for target practice. I have yet to try it out yet though.
It appears to be an old flywheel, probably from a tractor. It's about 18" across and about an inch thick. I doubt any gun I own could even put a dent into it.
Now...
I'm the same as alot of others here. I'm right handed and left-eye dominant. I've been shooting that way since hunters safety as a teen. I've gotten used to it and it doesn't even feel strange now.
My 9 and 6 year olds have been shooting a few times. They are good with the rules. I keep drilling them on and off the range. Keeping the finger off the trigger is the only rule that they have issues with.
I don't support california either. We will be driving down to disney world rather than going to the much closer Disney Land. I just can't stomach giving any of my money to that state.
what is the difference between:
reflex scope
red dot scope
holographic scope
On the outside these look very similar but I've never used any of them so I'm curious how they differ.
I'm checking out Amazon looking for some muffs for my two older sons (6yrs and 9 yrs). We'll be shooting rimfires outdoors so I don't expect alot of noise on this trip but I would like something that will last them a long time and protect them well.
I'm taking my kids to the range for the first time this weekend. They've been learning the four rules and we've practiced them some but never in a "real" situation.
What should I be teaching them during these early range sessions? Practicing good safety is a must but what else should they...
We recently moved into a rural area where target shooting is free rather than having to pay $15/hour. I'm anxious to get something my son can learn on. We were gifted a Winchester Model 67 but it is too large and too heavy for my son.
I've thought alot about picking up a Ruger 10/22. I...
Hmm, that appears to be another victim of the overmoderation that I read about in another closed thread. Looks like a perfectly legitimate thread to me.
I've seen a few news stories about a convicted felon who fired a full clip from an AK47 through his front door and killed some trick or treaters on halloween night. I did some searches and browsed the forums extensively but I can't find a single thread on the topic. I can't believe that such a...
Its true that these things can be seen in the news but the news does not think for you. They do not analyze. They only present facts (for the most part). Bring a news story to The High Road and we can analyze a story, an event, or an incident to reveal the problems or errors.
I find that...
Sorry for the omission.
My boys are 6, 3 and 18 months. The 6 and 3 year old share a room while the 18 month old is still in a crib. Any escape plans will include a stop in the nursery to pick up the baby.
I'll probably start with a fire drill. My wife and I debated over where to have...
There's a local range in Denver with the same policy. Its really for the gun rental. They had several suicides with rented guns so now they won't rent to people who are by themselves.
I was just reading a story about a renowned professional hunter who was convicted of stealing some very valuable Big Horn Sheep heads and convicted of a felony. The article said that he was forced to turn over more than 100 firearms that he owned.
If you are convicted of a felony are you...
