    Which Turret Press??

Lee says the Classic Turret will load as long as .308 in auto-index mode, however, I load .30/06 this way with no problem.

How do you carry pepper spray?

Do you carry - on your belt or in your pocket? What kind of case? I am looking at Fox 2 or 3oz cone spray. They do offer some cases that seem to be for police. http://foxlabs.com/holsters.shtml Thank you

    The JC Higgins Model 31

Millett High Scope Rings Millett Angle-Loc HIgh scope rings worked on my Higgins Model 31. These can be tightened from both sides. For some reason, the medium rings would not work. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=9078/Product/ANGLE_LOC_trade___22_SCOPE_RINGS

    30-06 Muzzle brake

The managed recoil loads are a great idea. Remington makes them and Hodgdon has reloading data. With 125 grain mild loads, the 06 kicks like a .243.

    Stainless or blued barrel

Z Michigan Corrosion-X is good stuff. It protected my blued steel .375 while hunting in coastal Alaska. The guides all had stainless steel rifles and I would too if hunting there often. The saltwater is very unkind.

    30-06 Muzzle brake

I bought a .416 Rigby and later added a Vais brake because it was killing me. It helped a lot. Out of courtesy, I do not set up right next to people at the range. The people in Africa did not complain about the noise. I did not want to trade it for a smaller caliber as I liked the way it...

    Stocks....375 RUM

That's pretty heavy - what will you use it for? What kind of stock now? A brake will help a lot and make it more noisy. Look at Vias. A good recoil pad will also help. Using 260 gr bullets will reduce recoil over 300 gr.

Turret Press - Manually Rotate and Perform Each Operation ?

SSN Vet I too have a Lee Classic Turret and it will load .30/06 in auto-index mode. Lee says the auto index limit is 3 1/16 COL but the slightly longer 06 works fine. The .375 Wea, however, is too long and auto index must be disabled. This is not a big problem but I am just curious (and...

Turret Press - Manually Rotate and Perform Each Operation ?

Assume you have a turret press without auto index (like a Redding T-7). Would it save much time to load one cartridge at a time thru all operations, manually rotating the turret? This assumes a press-mounted powder measure. I am presently using "batch mode", sizing a bunch, then powder...

    January Sales

Does anyone know of on-line retailers who might offer reloading equipment on sale in January? I am looking for a Uniflow with a case-activated-powder drop. At Midway the Uniflow is $68 and the CAPD is $78. I looked at Ebay (Uniflow only) but prefer new for the difference. Thank you

    3 Jaw Chuck?

You guys who chuck the cutter and hold the case must have fingers like a gorilla. I tried this on my drill press and went back to chucking the shell holder. I now use the cutter with the ball grip. The Possum Hollow sounds great if they have one that fits your cartridge.

    Lee Classic Turret questions

My classic turret will autoindex .30/06 but .375 Weatherby requires manual turret advance. This is not a problem since I can't stand to shoot the Weatherby in any volume.

30-06 with Lee Universal Charging Die

The Lee Pro Auto Disk powder measure (double disk kit) will do light Hodgdon Youth loads for .30/06 but lacks the capacity for regular loads. You can double-charge each case, use 3 disks or (best) use a Uniflow with auto linkage like Dave.

Weird Problem With Lee Classic Turret Press

This may be different. When using Lee shellholders on the CTP, the primer arm would catch in the shellholder hole and not drop back out (so I could insert a new primer). I used a Redding shellholder, which has a larger hole, and it fixed the problem.

Help with Lee Auto disk pro!

SSN I called Lee and they said that the Perfect Powder Measure was not fully automatic when used on the Lee Classic Turret. I think that means you have to manually reset it eact time. DaveInFloweryBranch (my neighbor), successfully used a Uniflow with their automatic linkage.
