They were not very popular and / or good sellers.
Looks like you have one with an original bobbed spurred hammer. Later models used a true bobbed hammer that had no spur and was flush with the rear of the slide when hammer down.
The last RCP model Kimber did had the skeletonized...
For 40 and 9mm I like CFE Pistol. Im going to try AA#5 in 9mm soon. Tried it in 38+p, wasn't impressed as it was quite dirt with unburned powder everywhere. In 357 mag it cleaned right up.
Hs-6 and light loads dont really mix, at least in my experience. You end up with a bunch of un burnt powder and crud. Bring a toothbrush to scrub under the extractor star if you are dead set on using the hs-6 with light loads.
For 357 mag, I used hodgdons jacketed data in 357 while loading rim...
4.0gr is max according to hodgdon with a 148gr hbwc.
I had one of those 1 book 1 cartridge manuals and found a load that was higher than hodgdons load and i worked up to it. 4.2gr had mildly sticky extraction. 4.4 gr was a no go as i ha to really pount the extractor to get the brass out...
This, clean it well enough your chamber is good and continue shooting. Stay away from sharp metallic instruments in the bore, no good can come of it.
Have you brushed it? Get some brownells double tuff bore brushes and some carbon remover of your choice. Hoppes is a good general solvent but...
This is accurate. I have the universal pistol puller and it does not work at all for lead bullets. For pistol bullets once it slips off a jacketed round you need to clean off the copper from the puller jaws or it will continue to slip off the projectile.
I used mine to pull 45acp since I didnt...
Update, Colt had it for a little over 5 weeks. They replaced the ejector rod, and adjusted the cylinder to factory specs. Ejector rod no longer sticks, but the excessive endshake is still thereo_O. I shot it a bunch today and the only time the cylinder would bind up is when I would get powder...
Well, my gun answered my question adlfter shooting a few cylinders full today. The ejector rod got stuck in the yoke a few times:scrutiny: and ended up becoming loose. Good news is I know it is threaded like a standard fastener (clockwise tightens it right up), bad news is I have to call Colt to...
Great, That confirms my suspicions - Thanks dfariswheel.
Follow up question, am I going to turn the ejector rod counter clockwise, or clockwise to unscrew it?
Yes, This colt cylinder rotates Clockwise. I was always taught to support the extractor with a tool designed for the job or empty brass in a pinch so the extractor cannot twist out of the cylinder and damage the corresponding interface between the two.
There doesn't appear to be any cylinder...
Hey Folks, I just picked up a new colt night cobra. Does anyone know how to separate the cylinder from the yoke once the yoke is removed from the frame? I'm assuming I must unscrew the extractor rod from the extractor while using empty cases in the cylinder for support.
I'm familiar with S&W...
You might have missed them. Did you throw away the thin white closed cell foam material that was wrapped around the barrel nut? They are usually taped to that or wrapped up inside of the foam. They are very thin and easy to miss if you do not know to look for them ahead of time.
In my limited experience, so long as the slide and frame are not terribly clapped out (subjective) then accuracy will be good assuming excellent barrel and bushing fit. One 9mm I built the slide and frame have a little play but the barrel and bushing fit are bank vault tight without affecting...
Not sure about the m5, but I built an upper or two with the aero atlas handguard on a standard and m4e1 upper. I dont recall the nut bottoming out before torque was achieved. I used an aero barrel (ballistic advantage), and Daniel defense. Remember, the handguard kit should come with shims that...
Waterboy, do the bullets you are using have a cannelure or not?
When I set my Lee fcd i use a bullet with no cannelure and take one of the rounds I crimped and pull the bullet. I then look to see if there is a ring in the bullet shank where the brass was crimped. If this is the case I know I...
The closest i come to Mexican carry is using a raven concealment vanguard. Its a minimalist trigger guard holster that does away with most of the bulk of standard holsters, while still covering the trigger guard.
Depending on what powder you choose to use for 10mm I wouldn't bother hand weighing charges once you verify that the powder measure throws are consistent within +/- .1 gr of each other. I load a 180gr jhp over 9.4gr hodgdon longshot and get a respectable 1300 fps avg out of a 5" barrel.
As far...
