The biggest beef I have heard with the Scout mount on an SKS is that the scope and/or mount must be removed to clean the gas system.

I would go with either a Mosin M38 or M44. An added bounus with the short barreled Mosin is that you wouldn't need matches to start a fire :D

I think my well used Albanian SKS gets the most looks. It has graffiti on the stock and chnks missing on the comb of the stock. Don't let the looks fool you it is the most accurate SKS I own. A close second is either my M38 Mosin or my CZ 52 due to the muzzle flash/fireball when fired.

I have a 5 rnd factory style fixed mag I got from Sportsman's Guide. I have not test fired the rifle with the mag installed. It will feed dummy rounds with no problems. The bad: I did have to make some adjustments to the mag before i could install it. The slot in the rear of the mag body...
