Is the magazine in? I know there is a interlock on some if not all the woodsman. Additionally, for the Woodsman it is not a good idea to dry fire them. Use a snap cap or spent shell to dry fire. Hope that helps.

I'd get the SRH just on the fact you can shoot 454 also. While the SRH won't win any beauty contests it is hell for strong and the 454 version is even stronger than the 44MAG version. Just my 0.02

Tough to beat a Ruger Super Blackhawk for the price. If you can find a Llama Super Comanche in 44MAG that would also rate. Before others chime in, yes I've got one and it's pretty awesome. Got it for cheap and chopped it to under 5" for only a little more.

Wow, my 460V puts on quite the flame/boom show can't imagine what the 2.5" barrel would be like. But would like to be there for it! :)
