    revolver vs. autoloader cc

In my humble opinion, the absolute best is the Smith & Wesson mod. 65, 3" bbl, round butt in 357, loaded with 38 spl +p, 158 gr. LSWHP. Absolutely reliable, powerful enough, easy to shoot, easy to conceal. Gone that way for years now.

1 Week left in PRK! Free state of Texas, Here I come

And while you're in San Antonio, run up to Lockhart and have some of Kruez Bro. sausage. That is absolutely the best Texas sausage there is. Pretty good barbecue too. Short trip and well worth it. Welcome to Texas.

    Pick the WORST gun...

Don't know how to tell you, but the Tech-9 was not made by Kel-Tek. It was made by Intratec corp. and was a real piece of junk. Keltek on the other hand produces dependable firearms.

    Model 19-4

I noticed your new mod. 19 has the non-standard target hammer and target trigger. My 19-4 just has the standard ones. I like the combo.

    Best Single-Stack 9 for CCW?

The only two I consider are the S & W 3913 and the Kel tec PF9. The PF9 is extremely compact and lightweight, while the 3913 is, in my opinion, the finest single-stack 9mm compact on the market. (Putting on flame-proof coat).

    Just One .22lr Handgun?

If I could have only one, it would be the Ruger Standard Auto with a 4" bbl. Not the best at any one thing, but very good at all of them and rugged.

Places to go plinking in TX?

"6th floor of the Texas Schoolbook Depository or the Grassy Knoll just below it, on Commerce St. in Dallas. Water towers at the colleges are always a good choice, too." Your remarks show a remarkable lack of good taste. Around here that's nothing to joke about. Not only is it not funny, it...

Recommend a good "gun" movie that is somewhat obscure

I can't believe nobody has mentioned "A History of Violence" with Vigo Mortenson. Fairly obscure movie, good gun action. I thought it was a great movie.

    defense experts?

While Mas Ayoob offers some very sound advise concerning defensive shooting/self protection, et al, I don't believe he has actually been in a gunfight. I tend to listen carefully when men speak who have actually "seen the elephant" i.e. Cirillo, Fairburn, Applegate, Askins, Jordan, Cooper...

    Dismayed and in a quandry!

Action movies just aren't as much fun anymore...

One film with pretty good (I thought) gun handling was "Tears of the Sun". Of course "The Outlaw Josie Wales" is classic.

    Pining for a S&W Model 19

I have a Model 19-3 that I had tuned (action job) by David Clay. It has the smoothest, slickest action of any gun I have owned. I have had this one since 1978 (it was used then). I carried it as a duty weapon for a while as we were transitioning into autos. I have sold or traded a lot of...

How do you carry your Kel-tec P-11?

I use the kel-tec clip for carry. It fits quite well IWB and feels quite secure. The draw is relatively smooth and easy. The gun is really well hidden and doesn't print. I have used this method for 2 years now and have never had the gun try to slip or fall.

    Elks Castle in Fort Worth

Has anyone had any dealings with these people? The few times I have been in there, they had a really good selection, and were very helpful and nice. Now they have added an indoor range also. I'm not sure, but their prices seemed quite decent. Anybody? They are located in west Fort Worth...

    Ruger P85/89

I have a P89 DAO. I dearly love this gun. Talk about dependable....unbelievably dependable. The gun feeds anything I put in it and never fails. Beauty is as beauty does.

    S&W Sigmas on sale

You also have a very large group of Glock fans who turn up their collective noses at anything that wasn't invented by Gaston Glock. The Sigma is fine. It is exactly what it is meant to be.....an economically priced, dependable weapon that just goes bang every time. Glock snobbery is rampant.

Looking for a sub compact 9mm

Look into the S&W 908 or 3913. Both are single stack DA 9mm. Both have sterling reputations for dependability with anything you put in them. Highly recommended.
