    I want an AK47.

If they don't know what you're talking about, ask for "da switch"...:D

    Using Video Games For Self-Defense?

I love games, but... There are some benefits, but I've also seen more unrealistic expectations as a result of playing FPS's. ("But in Counter Strike, the Desert Eagle is the best gun to have, because it kills more effectively"). Even if I learned everything I possibly could from CS...

Need help deciding on a long range rifle "Urban Taget aplications".

Planning in advance for ESU/SWAT/ Sniper training, since you aren't a LEO yet? I'd guess that it would be a while before you were eligible to join or train with these teams, but each city is a bit different. That said, perhaps the department would have some insight into what they field...

    new old shotty

Here's some advice - Find another one of these and purchase it for $95 or less. Then give it to me. Congrats on the great find! Let's see some before and after pics!

Ha! This is how it should be

I disagree. The story should not refer to the suspect who is "recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest". Instead, there should be an obituary.

What weapon would you use ...

Anything in class III would be fun. A beltfed Tippman .22 would fill the bill. Although, a suppressed 10/22 would also be enjoyable for plinking from the back porch...

    590DA

Faith in the shooter's training and muzzle control - not the gun's trigger or safety history - is a concept that many folks fail to recognize. "Gun people" (which doesn't necessarily include LEO's) don't have an issue with this, but some non-gun enthusiast LEO's could probably use all of...

Let's see your Salt 'n Pepper photographs!

Good pics.... How about some other condiments... "Salsa con queso" would probably be a Taurus Millennium and a Llama Max-I.

Cheap Rifle for plinker. Which would you buy?

SKS is the best of the bunch listed. A .22 is tough to beat for "cheap"...

    Building an AR sometime...maybe

I'm sure it's a preban lower...if not, I'm sure that the Flash suppressor is permanent and the bayo lug is unuseable. Right?

    Any problems with Ruger bolt-actions?

Weak accuracy from the pencil-weight bbls. Crunchy triggers, but like their factory 10/22 triggers, they can be improved. Lightweight, though - they're pretty guns.

I have one of the C models. Can the C's be press checked?

    .308 vs. 7MM-08 in 700VLS.

Pick up the 7mm-08. If you're shooting for real accuracy (why else would you get a VLS?), you probably won't be buying surplus or El Cheapo ammo anyway. It will also force you into the wonderful world of reloading, to try to squeeze some extra accuracy out of your rig. The 7mm-08 is...

    Best Hard Chrome company?

Got good results from Checkmate in Florida. Great finish, very quick turnaround (~2 weeks)...although I don't know what their turnaround time is like lately.

Getting an H&K USP .40 full size....need help with accessories. (newbie)

I like Bagmater bags/cases a lot, but I’m planning on making my next purchase from i-Shot Inc. I-shot is a poster on this board, so any business I can direct to him is a win for all of us. Nice looking stuff, and seemingly very well made. Night sites are a nice tool to have. If you plan...

Girl Scout Cookies at a Gun Show

Hee, hee. Personally, I prefer (what used to be called) Tagalongs - aka DragBags ---you eat enough of them, and you'll be draggin'. Milk chocolate covered shortbread cookies...with a concealed hi-protein peanut butter reserve supply. Mmmmm....tactical......

    What gun "hooked" you?

Mine was in about 1981, I guess...I asked my dad if I could hold "that black gun" that he had in his shop. That Colt AR was easily the very coolest lookin' piece of artillery that a 6-year old could possibly hold.:what: I had seen guns of all sorts to that point, but that AR got me bad.

Martha Stewart GUILTY -- and Police Firearms

Heck, yeah. "Rusty the Bailiff" on the People's Court always packed a wheelgun. That's enough proof for me.

    What gun "hooked" you?

Hey all- What's the one defining moment that made you realize that you were "into" guns? What was the one firearm that first hooked your interest? I'd guess that a lot of .22 single shots and .410's have special places in all of our hearts....
