Ruger Redhawk or Super Blackhawk???? Which one???

It ain't silly if the OP plans to hunt with it. That is what his first post says too. There is nothing wrong with pointing out all the possibilities available, and letting him decide.

Why Ruger is better than Smith & Wesson

Another plus for Smith- If you do need to have service, they will pay shipping both ways for guns made since 1989, Ruger won't for any gun over 1 year old.

Ruger Redhawk or Super Blackhawk???? Which one???

I was referring to the Garrett load that they ckaim is to long for the SBH. I should have been more clear. GARRETT'S 44 MAG HAMMERHEAD AMMO $85 / 50 CTGS 330-GR SUPER-HARD-CAST GC LONG-HAMMERHEAD AT 1400-FPS THIS 44 MAGNUM AMMO IS RECOMMENDED FOR USE IN RUGER AND DAN WESSON...

Why Ruger is better than Smith & Wesson

But, the Smith will always have a higher resale value, and is much nicer looking. The Ruger looks like a mule; strong, but ugly, while the Smith looks like a beautifully groomed Clydesdale; strong and good looking.;)

Ruger Redhawk or Super Blackhawk???? Which one???

5.5" Redhawk. Longer cylinder will allow you to take advantage of Buffalo Bore and Garrett rounds that are too long for the Super Blackhawk cylinder. I've owned both, and it isn't even close when it come to comfort levels when shooting them side by side, which I did on numerous occasions. Both...

why do 180 gr .44mags kick more than 240gr?

Lighter bullets don't actually recoil harder, but they feel that way sometimes. It's due to the old "for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. A lighter bullet leaves the bore faster, therefore, recoil will be faster. (More sharp, or abrupt feeling) A heavier bullet's recoil will...

    S&w 629?

THe ones with the full lug are just a different version of the half lug guns. I hate round butt guns, but others love them. They make recoil feel far worse to me than the square butt guns do. The RB version tends to shove all the recoil into a concentrated spot in the palm, for me. The recoil is...

    Problem with 629-6

The above post is probably the culprit, but just so that you know, Smiths have a lefthand thread on the ejector rod. Righty loosey, lefty tighty.;) Also, check for foreign matter under the ejector star, like brass shavings or powder fouling build-up.

The New Second Amendment March Forums

The following is referrencing an e-mail that I sent Skip Coryell. I got tired of everyone saying they were going to do something about our rights, but then not doing anything. I am no one special. I just knew that MCGRO is very active in protecting our 2A rights, and thought maybe they would...

Fire Mission: Kroger Grocery, anti gun AND racist

I wonder how many guns will be stolen so that some gangbanger can get his fix money for the day? How many punk kids will steal their dad's gun to sell just to get back at him for something? This stuff happens with buy back programs. They are stupid forms of gun control, which still makes...

Michigan bill to remove "Gun Free Zones"

This action is being pushed by MCRGO and Skip Coryell- founder of the Second Amendment March. I e-mail back and forth with Skip some, and he has been promoting this idea for a long time.

    Bear/Hiking gun

There was nothing permanent, but in the process of being hit from behind the bear left the front/underside of the truck covered in scat. :D:D:D

    S&W Model 28-2 problem

If you check the ejector rod, remember, S&W's have lefthand threads on the rod-lefty tighty, righty loosy. Also, guys unfamiliar with S&W's tend to over lube them. They are desiged to work with a minimum of lubrication. One or two drops on the front of the base of a cocked hammer every couple of...

    Bear/Hiking gun

This is totally incorrect. You need to read Phil Shoemakers writings. He is a master guide in Alaska, a bear guide in particular, and has written extensively on this subject. He has proven time and again, that a good hard cast bullet of semi-wadcutter design will penetrate a charging bears head...

Freedom Arms owners - meausure your cylinder gaps please!

I have a model 83 and my BC gap will just barely accept a .0015" feeler gauge. Regardless of gap, you can't beat a Freedom Arms gun.

A New Deputy says: Thanks, THR

I know there is a lot of meth in the north west and some of those people aren't to happy to ever see a lawman so please be careful, thanks for doing a thankless job, and never forget there are people here who are willing to listen if you ever need to vent. And most of all, never ever loose your...

Is .44Mag a practical self defence caliber?

I think the .44 can be an excellent defense round with the right ammo, like ww silvertips or something along those lines. The key is to practice, practice, practice and when your done go practice some more. That goes for any caliber. Also presentation has a big phsycological effect and the...
