Looking for a 45 cal lever gun

I just picked up an Old Model Vaquero in .45Colt and wanted a companion for it. I got the Old Model because it will handle the Ruger only loads. Should I expect that any lever action rifle will also handle them?

K6 owners are you happy with your purchase?

I got one around 2 weeks ago and love it. The trigger is smooth and steady enough to allow you to stage it. Doesn't feel like the 9lb + pull it's advertised to be. I got one of the ones with 3 dot sights, and between those and my new cataract free eyes I'm a happy camper.

    Cabella's 1851 London

I've had a '51 Navy for a number of years and it is hands down the most natural pointing revolver I have ever shot.

    my mossberg 500a misfires

No - springs get weak from being flexed, as when they're used. Storing a spring in it's compressed state won't weaken or break it, unless the spring is tempered wrong, or the steel is too soft.

What are the chances that Arnold vetos AB962

If you want to help out, you don't have to live out here in the PRK to use a phone, and we could really use the help. And for those of you who are saying "you made your own mess" - I live up here in the northern, rural part of the state, in a shall issue county for CCW. It's a whole 'nother...

    Firearms in Popular Music

I'm sorry - what's this then? I agree with Zoogster and others, most of the songs dealing with guns portray them being used to kill people. Gangsta rap, by it's very nature tends to show the illegal use of guns. IMHO this thread is not helping to further our cause of showing the responsible...

Question about shipping a shotgun to Belize

A good friend of mine who owns property in Belize has just been granted a permit to own a shotgun there. He has no idea of what he needs to do to get it there, and his airline (Continental) has been no help at all. Does anyone here have any advice?

    California Open Carry

Bull -Calguns has done as much as anyone (and I'm betting a hell of a lot more than you) in the gun rights fight in CA. In addition Bill Wiese is one of the most ethical and honest people I have ever run into in the RKBA community or anywhere else. How about some proof on this? It ought to be...

Your Picks in .45 for CCW??

I carry a Kimber Compact CDP. Same size as a Colt CCO, and carries and conceals easily. I had one problem with the external extractor that Kimber fixed by replacing the slide with an internal extractor type that had brand new night sights. All this with a 2 week turnaround:D

1897 Winchester Trench Gun. Bought it in 1969 at a gun show in Mt. View, California for (IRRC) $125.00. Sold it at the request of a blissninny girlfriend a year later for the same $$ :banghead: Last time I did that.

Learning to shoot w/both eyes open -

Don't use them myself on centerfire arms, but I have heard that you can take a piece of fired brass, pop out the primer with a nail i you don't have a de-capper, and fill the hole with silicone.

    Gunfighting cabbie

I drove a cab nights for 6 years, carried my 1911 in a left hand Galco horizontal shoulder holster as well as a Taurus 605 in a Mika pocket holster stuffed into the outside top of my left cowboy boot. Never had to pull either of them. Like nalioth said - use your senses, listen to your...

    Pocket Holsters

Another vote for Mika here for all of the reasons stated. They also work as an temporary appendix carry holster for my J-frame as well as for a boot holster w/cowboy type boots.
