Hi, Yeah, I tried all three mags. The two that came with the gun and an aftermarket Glock +2. At the range it was hit or miss(lol) on all three if they would lock in place. Now at home, they seem to be ok, empty or fully loaded. It is a Gen 3 and the mag release button was/is pretty stiff...

At the range to day using two 10 round Glock mags and one Glock +2 mag(all new), sporadically all three mags would not lock into place, whether loaded or empty. I moved my finger around the release/lock tabs inside the grip and that seemed to clear the condition. Any ideas what could be...

Thanks for all the info. I'll call mossberg with the S/N and ask if the receiver is magnum rated. I purchased the gun new in the late '80's.

If: 1) The gun was able to handle 3" mags prior to the changes you made It handles 3in shells but unclear about Mag loads? 2) If the barrel you put on can handle 3" mags Also not sure??

I have an older (20 years) Mossberg 500 12ga Sportsman model that I recently updated for HD with a Mossberg 18.5in barrel. Will this arrangement allow me to shoot 3in magnum 00 buck loads safely? TIA
