Has your Gun shop ever Screwed you over

The gun shops in my area (Cincinnati) are pretty awful. There's a couple nearby, and with the exception of one, (Shooters Supply in Loveland) they're mostly overpriced, and overstocked with combat tupperware or Kimbers. It's all but impossible to find a high end 1911 in my area. Never have...

    Opinions on Colt Combat Target?

I owned one for a while. It was accurate and reliable. Mine was parkerized. I sold it because I wanted something a little bit different. Didn't really care much for the adjustable sights. I also didn't like the rollmarks on mine. Very shallow in places. I did like the high cut on the front...

    Ever buy out of boredom??

Boredom & lust. Looking for the perfect gun. Is there such a thing? I'm constantly buying, selling, and trading. Maybe I just like the thrill of owning something new. Never really have sold a junker. Just wanted something different.

    S&w 642 Ccw Package

I've got a Milt Sparks pocket holster for my 642, and have a Summer Special IWB holster due to be delivered anytime now. I like having options. My rule of thumb is two holsters for each gun.

    Les Baer or Kimber

My Premier II was $1100. Not much more than most Kimbers, and cheaper than some others.

    Les Baer or Kimber

cerberus: First of all, this post was asking about the comparisons between the Les Baer and Kimbers. How can you be qualified to make a comment when you say you've never owned or handled the Baer. An internet commando does not an expert make. Secondly, maybe you just need to not comment...

    g27 and g36 comparison ques.

I've owned 7 different Glocks over the years including the 27 and 36. Of all the different ones, the 36 fit my hand the hand the best. The recoil was very similar between the two, with the 36 possibly being a little less. I stupidly sold the 36, and that is one of the ones I'm considering...

    Springfield XD or HK USP?

I took my USP45 and my Les Baer Premier II to the range last Saturday. Fired approx. 150 rds. from each pistol. A combination of hardball and various types of hollowpoints. The USP was every bit as accurate as my LB. Of course the trigger and ergonomics were'nt as good, and the recoil was a...

    Too pretty to carry?

You wouldn't buy a BMW or a Lexus and never drive it would you? I have a Baer, had to sell several other things in order to afford it, but wouldn't hesitate to carry it, (I don't have my CHL yet) if I could. I would never buy a gun that I wouldn't carry or shoot the snot out of.

What good is a .40S&W round for? compromise caliber?

Count me among the fans of the .40. I can't imagine a better weapon than my P229 stoked with 11 rounds of 155 or 165 gr. Gold dots. Yes the .45 is my first love, but where you can you find a 45 in this small of a package and this capacity? Yes it is a compromise, but so are many other...

I think I might have fondled my next gun purchase last night

Michigun: That's a great idea about the Covert. It did seem like it was alot cheaper. The PM9 was $672 with nightsites. I think the Covert without them was almost $150 or so cheaper. Rinspeed: I used to own a 239 in .40. It was an ok gun, but just not for me. Everyone has different likes I...

I think I might have fondled my next gun purchase last night

.......a Kahr PM9 in the black diamond kote w/ nitesights. One of the employees pulled a target from the back using his, and at 10 yards; very impressive. Trigger was smooth, very nice, slim, and light. Right now I have mainly full size guns. Sigs, 1-HK, & 1-1911. I have a S&W 642 to use once...

Tuner: An update on brass in the face

Tuner: As we discussed in my previous thread, I have a Les Baer Premier II that was giving me brass kisses pretty frequently. I replaced the recoil spring with a 16 1/2 LB variable, removed the shock buff, and cleaned everything real good. Well, last night I finally got to take it back to the...

    Anti-gun spouses from Heck.

birdv: good one :D My Wife's always been afraid of guns. Heck, 12 years ago she didn't even want 'em in the house. Boy, how times have changed. ;) Now, she's even warming up to the idea of me having a concealed carry now that we have it here in Ohio. The funny thing is she's a better...

Customize or Buy Another NEW Gun??

I Sold my NRM SS Colt after purchasing a Les Baer Premier II used for $1100. It was like night and day. I don't think I would have beeen as happy with the Colt being customized. Also, I'm not a very patient person, so the thought of waiting a year or more wasn't very appealing either.

Brass in the face - possible fix?

A couple of quick side notes: I field stripped it, installed the new recoil spring, removed the shock buff, and cleaned the firing pin and extractor tunnels. Boy, having a Series 70 is a breeze compared to the Series 80. The old spring was about 1/2" shorter than the new one, so I went ahead...
