    7.62X39 should go nearly forever unless the barrel is not maintained or you get the barrel hot as hell frequently. Watch out for calibers with big cases with small high velocity bullets if you are worried about short barrel life.

    Cooper makes the most accurate rifles that I've ever used. Picked up a used .223 Montana Varmiter and now have 2 more new Coopers in .243and 6.5X284. All are like laser beams.
