Adding sling attachment points to a synthetic stock?

Hey, looking for some advice... My wife bought a .22 in preparation for an Appleseed shoot. She's very petite and standard size stocks don't fit her very well. She finally picked out what I think is a Savage Arms 64 F that fit her great, but on reading the emphasis Appleseed training puts...

I've been collecting beeswax chunks from my beekeeper friend and finally got around to rendering them. It made up seventy of those little mini-muffin ingots.

How difficult is it to build a 1911 from a kit

I've been looking at some 1911 kits for sale and was wondering how hard it is to build one yourself. Does anyone here have some experience to share? I'm not looking to make a target pistol, just something to plink with and maybe CC.

zip gun laws and building your own

Hey all, The build-your-own-AK thread got me wondering - in States like Texas which prohibit the manufacture of 'zip guns', how does that apply to building your own gun for personal use? According to Texas statute:

Got a good deal at Wal-Mart yesterday. Clay thrower half off!

Was having some good luck at Wal-Mart yesterday, I bought two 550 packs of .22 LR, AND a half price "Do-All Outdoors The Competitor " for $15. Of course I then spent 10 bucks on a box of clays and 22 dollars on a hundred pack of shotgun shells, but - darn it - I saved money doing it. :D

All Supreme Court Justices likely to retire during Obama's term voted against Heller

So it doesn't matter who they are replaced with - it won't change the 5 - 4 vote. I hope this saves some bandwidth.

any advantage to using a 240V lead melter?

Howdy all, I've been looking at casting my own bullets and see two versions of lead melters - 120V and 240V industrial/export models I'm pretty sure I can get 240V out of an unused dryer outlet, so is there any advantage to using that sort of model? Thanks

Wife REALLY wants an AK-47 - advice?

Hey all, I've got a 'problem' that more people probably wish they had - my wife really wants an AK-47. Well, that's not the problem so much as finding one, or a reasonable substitute. She is only 5 feet tall and under a hundred pounds, so she wants something that would fit her stature. Also...

Are all AK-47 parts kits on backorder?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I was surfing around for AK-47 parts kits. Are they in stock anywhere?

how do you open ammo tins?

Okay, just got in my first ever purchase of ammo-in-a-tin (7.62x25, 1200+ rounds) and found out that neither a can opener nor a Swiss Army Knife works well for opening it. I wound up using tin snippers - not a pretty job of it. Is there a good tool for this job?

Field stripping and cleaning a Navy Arms Tokarev TU-90

Hi all, I've got a NA Tokarev TU-90. I haven't shot it much, but plan to get out to the range more often. I see that imported 7.62x25 ammo is often described as being corrosive, so I figure that I should learn how to field strip and clean the weapon before I start shooting more. I found...
