R25 = Pretty good hunting rig

This spring I picked up a Remington R25 (DPMS AR10) in 243 WIN, I’m a huge fan of the 243 and couldn’t pass this rifle up, I figured it would make a great Yote gun and could even be used for deer and antelope as well, plus I just thought it was a neat looking and a nice change from the rest of...

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

KRS, as stated, fresh WWB. Also its VERY clear it was out of battery, I don’t think the case could tell the tail any better, like you I’m absolutely shocked the case didn’t burst, I’m sure the 3” barrel had something to do with it, my guess is had it been a 5 she would have let go forsure...

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

I for the life of me can not figure out how it happened, I took an empty case and put it in the mag, there is no way the mag malfunctioned, its solid as can be, nothing is getting by those lips, but like RC said it can not feed with the firing pin like it is, even with the empty case pushed as...

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

And to think, I choose the LDA because I thought it might be a wee bit safer than the std SA design for use as a carry weapon Thanks for the info Jim, I only have a few 1911's and do not know a whole lot about the differences between them

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

the mags are perfect, I'm shocked it didn’t go off the moment it hit the round, but its safe to say it did happen and I'm not about to try and replicate exactly how it happened. Maybe I’ll try a dummy round in it later and see how it could have done this.

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

Well after a little looking I believe I found the issue, I have found that for some reason firing pin is in fact protruding and rigid, it’s a very dangerous condition, I’m deeply disturbed that this is even possible with a modern firearm, it is safe to say I will be selling this pistol once it...

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

Will do on the pics, I just forgot the case at home. I did handle the round just before putting it in the magazine and if the primer was protruding is was very minimal, I would have noticed anything grossly out of spec but I could see even a minimal amount being extremely dangerous, that 3"...

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

No it is not, the pistol appears to be in normal condition. But I should note it sure looks like the pin went right thru the primer.

PARA LDA - discharged when loading - opinions wanted

I had a extremely scary thing happen to me last night and I thank the lord that nothing happened due to proper gun handling, but at any rate I would like to get some feedback of what may have caused this. I had just loaded a magazine for my Para LDA Carry (45), I had inserted the magazine...

    Everyone go buy a .17 HM2, not a HMR

Saturno I only say that as in my mind when someone says "mach 2 costs 3 times as much" They are comparing apples to oranges, the performance is so drastically different in every way when comparing 550 round per box economy 22lr to any 17 that the comparison shouldn't even be made, and if it...

    Everyone go buy a .17 HM2, not a HMR

I would have to agree that the mach2 is a great round, I can honestly say it’s the one gun that ALWAYS leaves the safe when I go hunting or shooting, why? Its cheap and deadly accurate, whoever said Mach2 costs more than 22lr is full of it, good 22 hunting ammo (Vipers, Stingers, Mini Mags...

    carry gun

When I can hide it( winter), SIG GSR 45 ACP And when I can't, Walther PPS 9mm, thin as can be Of course others do get carried from time to time, if I’m heading into a tough part of town its the XDM9, I like having 20 rounds before I have to change mags, the 3" Para LDA 45 ACP gets a...

Help setting up 45 ACP dies, need good info please

I’m somewhat new to reloading hand gun ammunition and have been having some troubles with getting good results for my 45 ACP, does anyone know of good books, links for getting a better understanding on how to properly set up the dies for handgun use. I’m experiencing rounds that are to tight...

Question about 22-250 OAL .150” extra too much?

Well the extra long throat seems to be the case in both my rifles, they are both pretty new, any idea how a .150" “jump” effects accuracy? Does anyone know if the throat in the Savage Long Range Precision. Varminter is extra long as well? I've been thinking of getting one of those in 6mm to...

Question about 22-250 OAL .150” extra too much?

Do you happen to know how much shank is recommended be in the case, I guess I've read a few reloading books front to back and never saw the stats for that, it would be nice to have less jump but seems like it is not possible to get anywhere near the rifling and been in spec.

Question about 22-250 OAL .150” extra too much?

I recently picked up an OAL gauge to play with and found in both my 22-250’s that the bullets don’t encounter the riffling till an OAL of 2.500” is reached (2.510 in my Savage 12 varmint 2.500 in my Remington 700 varmint) I know its debatable but from what I’ve been told and read it seems like...

    Match Reloads

What is the wax like lube found on match grade rimfire stuff, I have shot loads of Eley EPS and they have a rather thick coating of lube/wax, I've never removed it and @ 50 yards I always shoot ragged little holes
