Test and compare. All are good firearms. I carry HK USP/c in .45. The reason I went with HK was because it fits my hand really well, and I'm more comfortable shooting it than any other compact .45's I checked out. Its all personal preference.
Tis the season! I just bought mine yesterday. I was at the range with it 10 minutes after leaving the store. Fun, cheap shooter. Impressive accuracy straight out of the box. I got mine mostly for plinking and maybe some small game. Also good to have around to give myself a refresher on...
Washington is an open carry state, and I have a permit to conceal. I do have the choice. I always conceal. I've never open carried in public. I might if more people did, but they don't, so it would just draw unnecessary attention to me and my little friend.
I usually just field strip them and give them a good wipe down using a rag made from an old t-shirt, som q tips and some hoppes. I hit the barrel with a bore brush and hoppes, run some patches down to remove the crud I just loosened with the brush, give it all a light coat of oil, then...
I know we have separate seasons for muzzle loader, modern firearm, and archery. I think its okay to use muzzle loader during modern firearm season, but I'm not sure. I've never really looked into it. I have a different rifle for each season.
If I were a church goer I would carry. I always carry. Bad things can happen in church. The bad guys probably don't care about perceived sanctity of church. I think we need more people to carry to church. Religious buildings have been targeted many times for assault. That might change...
I wish I had a cabinet or safe, but I can't afford one. I keep my carry with me at all times. All my other hand guns are kept in an old combo lock box originally used for some type of electronics. Any thief could get into it, but children can't. My long guns are sprawled around, leaning in...
I can't think of a gun I would never buy. I have an H&K, I love it. Its jammed a couple times, but all in all its great. I like Glocks, I've had them jam too. Maybe I just have bad luck, but any semi-auto I've ever done a lot of shooting with has had some sort of malfunction. Including...
What is the technical difference? I understand that +P is a more potent round, but that's as far as my understanding goes. How does it work? I figured some people who reload a lot could explain it best. Bear in mind that if your answer is TOO technical, I probably won't understand. ;)
Without being there, I can't say for sure. Bolt cutters count as a weapon. He also said they seemed to be reaching for other weapons. From the article, it sounds like he judged that there was an impending attack. He reacted. I'm sure there are many details that I don't have, but with the...
I lost the paperwork for my model 85SS2, and I couldn't remember model number or specs. I called customer service and gave them the serial number. The rep I talked to was very helpful. He identified the model number and answered questions. My main question was weather or not my 85 was rated...
I think a Ka-bar is a bad choice. I haven't left the house without a good knife in years, and the only time my ka-bar makes an appearance is when I'm camping. Ka-bars are pretty versatile tools, good for many things. Self defense isn't one of them. It will do the job, but not nearly as...
Hi, I'm Bernie and I'm a gunaholic. I've been gun free for exactly ZERO days now, and I'm proud of my progress.
I own a Taurus .38 special, a Smith and Wesson K-38 (pre model 14), and HK USP/C .45, a Remington 20 gauge, a Marlin 336, an I-don't-know-what .22 LR, and a muzzle loader. I fully...
Nothing wrong with bottom feeders. I carry one regularly. They have pros and cons. Pros- easier to change mags than reload a cylinder, generally higher capacity. Cons- jams, small pieces to lose when cleaning, clearing misfires...
Its all about what you're more comfortable with. I like a...
I've had my Taurus .38 snub nose for almost 6 years. Lots of ammo through it. No problems. Very accurate considering its 2 inch barrel. Never had anything go wrong. I've heard bad things about Taurus, but never experienced any. I voted good Taurus.
When I don't have my HK on my belt, I've got my Taurus snubbie .38 special. Sometimes in my pocket, other times on a belt. Holster, no holster...depends on my mood. I've never had any problems with pocket carry with or without a holster. I generally prefer a pocket holster just for position...
